I spent quite some time on a vegan diet. The only time I felt like I was missing out was when I went to a restaurant, and that was only because most restaurants have very few - if any - vegan options.

Oh yeah, that's definitely the worst part. When I was abroad there were hardly ANY even vegeterian dishes at restaurants, so I usually had to eat before or after, sometimes I couldn't even go. It wasn't very fun. It's super easy to be vegetarian/vegan in Sweden though! About one in seven swedes are vegetarian/vegan now!

Sofia: vegetarian bacon sounds great, I didn't know that even exists! What is it like? I want to try it, too. I'm not a vegetarian, but we are trying with my boyfriend to cook food with less meat than usually, so that at least couple days a week we'd have fully vegetarian meal.

I'll let you know as soon as I try it! That's great! Some people seem to think you have to eat ONLY vegetarian food or ONLY meat dishes, but I think being a flexitarian (eating both) is really great

I've had vegetarian bacon now! It was delicious! Not quite as crispy, but the flavour was great!

Hm. I suppose I shouldn't knock it until I've tried it, huh? :P

I've had several meals that were vegan and delicious, thanks to a friend of mine who went vegan for health reasons. The first few times I ate at her house, she hadn't told me the meals were vegan. We had sausage calzones that first time. :P

My step-mom buys morning star for the kids. They can't tell the difference and apparently it's better for you?

But I mean, they're 5. And these ones will eat pretty much anything so long as they can put barbecue sauce on it. >>

I'm not sure how it can be considered better for you, unless you specifically have a problem eating meat (I mean, check out that ingredients list!) It is almost certainly better for the environment, though.
