Hi Sofia, I emailed the mayor at firstname.lastname@example.org to ask about my Citizen Application, it turns out she never received an email notification that a citizen application was submitted. I would recommend you email her and ask about your application. It may have happened to you as well. (This is assuming you still haven't heard back about your application).
I am definitely looking forward to gaining access to more forums . As of now I have no clue whether I want to become a Novice or Recruit, I will have to have a look around. I like the fact that you have to do a test to be raised from Novice to Accepted and then Accepted to Aes Sedai and have to wait a minimum of 12 weeks, it means you have really earned it. Do you have an Ajah you would like to join in mind yet?
Typically when I join a forum I find it hard to post, especially as a new member, but I had a lot to talk about . I tried hard to make sure my posts were not just one sentence, but in-depth. I can't wait (hopefully!) to be successful in my citizenship application as well. I have been reading the Membership Manual in depth and progressing the ranks seems really fun! I take it you will want to become a Novice when you can?
Good morning, darling! Yes, it does normally only take a week but our wonderful mayor (who really is amazing) has been on a short Leave of Absence. She just returned two days ago and I am sure she is wading through all the paperwork that has accumulated. I will make sure to poke my head in and check on it today. No worries though, we are all so excited to have you around and are so pleased with how active you've been!!!
Hey Sofia, I was just going to ask you how your Citizenship application was going (I sent mine on friday), and I noticed you asked Ashara about it. I asked Theolyn a couple of days ago and she said this:
"I wouldn't say it takes more than two weeks for someone's application to get approved (in my personal experience, at least!) - given that everything is in order. It can be less, it can be more, too, and it really depends on the amount of work that our Mayor has. But rest assured, she does an amazing job and your application will be processed as soon as possible. "
Also do you know how we are notified our application has been successful? Do we get sent an email or....?
EDIT: Just read the Manual and we get an email
Hi Sofia! I just wanted to offer my assistance to you. If you have the original of your avatar, or a link to where you found it, I can resize it for you. Our avatars are supposed to be 110x170 pixels. Yours is just a bit smaller than that. If you have the tools to do it yourself, feel free. If you ever have any questions or just want to chat. Let me know! Also, whenever you become a citizen, you're welcome to join in the Citizens class in the classroom. It's a great place to start and learn about the forums. I'm glad you have found us
About your name, no it's not too late! You can send an e-mail to email@example.com with your choice of first and last name, and our lovely Director of Membership will change it for you.
That's great that you have read all the books! I am happy to talk with you about them any time! How are you getting on with everything? And look, just 4 more posts and you can apply for Citizenship, I am so excited for you!!!!
I am so glad you are enjoying your stay thus far! You asked how we spend our time here. Once you reach 25 posts you can apply for Citizenship and when approved you are granted access to a lot more forums ranging from various hobbies, random thoughts and fun posts, to current events. There is even an entire board dedicated to the various WOT books. There is SO MUCH!
If it makes you feel any better, this was my only experience with this kind of community as well. I was very nervous at first and so I just took my time to look around the forums and read and post. Everyone was very friendly and willing to talk. I also found many people who were glad to have me Visitor Message them when I had questions that I was too embarrassed to ask on a forum. No one minded.
My favorite character is Nynaeve with Egwene running a close second. There are many reasons why this is, but it would take a much longer message to explain why, haha. Have you read all of the books?
I am part of the Welcoming Committee here at Tar Valon.net and it is with great pleasure that I get to offer you help in any way you might need. It is always a good idea to read through our Membership Rules and Regs. located under the Home tab, but that can be lengthy and sometimes it helps to have someone to contact!
I really enjoyed reading your introduction post today and look forward to getting to know you. My daughter's favorite character is Egwene too! Please let me know how I can help get you settled in, don't hesitate to ask anything!
