I could understand being concerned about that. But in that case, I usually would buy from local butchers instead of something processed. To be fair, I don't know what "morning star" is or what it consists of, so :cheeseeni:

It probably also has to do with red meat being so acidic, it literally leaches calcium from your bones increasing your risk for osteoporosis when you eat it on a frequent basis. Meat in general causes your body to have a more acidic environment, but red meat is the worst. And of course most meat of any kind has a lot of hormones and antibiotics injected into them - always choose free range and grass fed when possible (although some mix fed is ok too). But, dang it is expensive.

Morning Star is a brand of vegetarian (vegan?) meat imitations.

Yea school starts back today! It's been 5 days since someone posted here and thought I'd break the silence. Anyone going back to college this semester?

I am! Or, I graduated this spring, but I'm starting a new undergraduate program in social anthropology! I'm really really looking forward to going back to uni, and especially to meeting my new classmates! I've spent the last few weeks reading the textbooks in preparation :D

I've been back 4 weeks already. Taxation Law is really interesting, but there is sooooooo much reading. Plus the lecture recordings take me 4 times as long to listen to because I keep pausing to write stuff down. It's a really full-on subject, but I'm enjoying it. :)

I am not going back to school. I would like to take a language class, however.

No one in my immediate area teaches the language I want to learn, though. I'd have to drive 45min one way for a night class in the city.... not keen on that.

Japanese :pleased-1:
I have audio lessons my husband got for me, but it's not the same as a class. I prefer classroom learning so I can bounce ideas and get feedback from the professor

Oh, that's great! Japanese is a lot of fun :D Are you registred at Lang8? You can get feedback from native speakers, I found it really useful for practicing my Japanese. I prefer classroom learning too, though. Unfortunately I won't have any Japanese classes this year, so I'll have to study by myself too, as to not lose my skills...

Not sure if it counts as back-to-school but I spent the weekend at the South Florida Bee College. We had so much fun and I learned a great deal about the anatomy and physiology of the honey bee. Also learned about proper hive management and how to catch and mark queens. I'm hoping to be raising a colony of my own in the next few months. :D

My goodness, so many people are going back to school already. My first year of University doesn't officially start until the end of September, although we do have an induction week before that. I've got to the point where I just want to learn! So I decided to buy a few of the recommended texts and start reading, as well as recapping some topics.

Wow, the end of September! That's pretty late! My classes start in a little less than two weeks. What are you going to be studying? I couldn't wait either, I've gotten through two books so far, going to start the third today. Summer vacation feels so long!

Going to be studying Mathematics. I've always enjoyed it, so wanted to carry on.
When did your summer vacation start? Mine started in the middle of June.
What are you studying?
Even when I was at Sixth Form college (16-18 years old) we didn't start until the start of September....

Also on an unrelated note, if I just choose "reply" instead of "reply with quote" do you still get a notification?
