Hello all! I am Elyss Koh'inor and I'm so excited to start my journey through Tar Valon. For my introduction post, I'm going to answer a few of the suggested questions.
I found out about TarValon.Net at my first JordanCon this past April. Since then, I've been waiting for my schoolwork to calm down a bit before joining. I joined with my mother, Ashara Koh'inor. We are both excited to be a part of a larger Wheel of Time community.
My favorite character...might as well ask a mother to pick a favorite child. My top favorites are probably Perrin and Egwene. Don't ask me to choose between them. I can't.
My mother is a lot like Nynaeve, my father can be like Gareth Bryne, and my younger brother is enough like Mat to worry me.
I am a homeschooled highschool student, writer, and crafter. I love anything where you create things. I am learning French and can speak a (very) little Italian.
My favorite books and author outside of Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time is another "favorite child" question. Hogwarts will always be there to welcome me home. I love the original Sherlock Holmes stories, and I could probably recite Anne of Green Gables. Recently I've started Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archives, and it's looking like those books will be another set of life-long favorites.
My mom introduced me to the Wheel of Time, and I read the series back-to-back over this past year. I finished the series five minutes away from Atlanta before my first JordanCon. I count myself very lucky I didn't have to wait between books for the next one to come out. I discovered JordanCon when it was mentioned on a costuming website, and asked for a trip to Atlanta for my birthday present. Present well spent.
