Yes, it is as Theo Sedai said; we study Scandinavian Languages (I study Swedish and Theo studies Danish), and along the way, we also learn about history and literature related to Scandinavia in general. One of our classes is dedicated to very detailed linguistic structures, such as grammar, and this semester we are learning semantics (primarily cognitive), which, as Theo said, is just... so all over the place, dispersed and misty. There's little in there that is concrete, but we'll manage something, we always do.

I am taking a mental break from work (not avoiding it. nah-uh). I just had the most awkward conversation with our office manager about the toilet use etiquette... I mean, pardon me, but... there are limits to what should be addressed by the office manager, no?

So I started my new semester. Thank god, I have a bullshit class! My other class is going to be SO MUCH WORK. And then I picked the wrong group to be with. Do you hate group work?

Right now, I'm avoiding my evening to do list. None of it is really hard stuff, but I'm feeling super lazy, to the point where writing, meditating, and taking a bath all sound like insurmountably difficult tasks.

[censors herself] I find that group work can be quite challenging because the overall product hinges on the quality of work for everyone. And unlike the workplace, there is little choice you have (sometimes) with whom you are paired in the classroom. So I would say I'm not a fan of group work, but I could probably work on it to get better. (Was that an oxymoron?)

School is my MBA work, and it's quite a bit of it, in addition to two kids and a full time job. So, I'm feeling the strain.

The group turned out to be not horrible, so I'm doing better, but yeah, they were all like, "Well, I can only meet on Tuesday and no other day."

Sometimes, I declare myself a "me" day, and I don't do anything or do anything for anyone for a full 24 hours, despite whatever explosions occur. Love those days.
