Welcome Zanus :welcome
As my mother Ashara mentioned above, she introduced me to the series. I didn't have to wait for them to come out either and that was certainly a blessing. I enjoyed the ability to read them back to back and not forget about those minor characters who always pop back up.
Other than Wheel of Time, do you have any other favorite books?

Hello Elyss! It is so cool that you and your mother joined together, pardon the pun but it must have helped you bond even more :)
I can definitely agree with you on remembering the minor characters, at one point I had to write down
the members of the Black Ajah and which Aes Sedai formed the Salidar embassy and which formed Elaida's embassy so I could always refer to it!
(Spoiler just in case!)
I have always enjoyed fantasy ever since reading The Hobbit when I was a child. So most of the time I read fantasy books, and preferably those which form a massive series. I love Robin Hobb, I have only read the first trilogy (The Farseer Trilogy) but I was very engrossed and finished it in around 3 weeks. Do you have any favourite books?

I've heard of the Farseer Trilogy, but I haven't looked into them much. Within the last few months I've discovered more of Brandon Sanderson's works, and I have to say the Stormlight Archives are quickly becoming one of my favorite book series. I also love Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Mistborn, and other fantasy series.

Welcome! If you have any questions, or just want to chat, feel free to message me!

I started reading the books... around the time that either ten or eleven was released, I don't remember which...

Also, I have LOTS of favorite fantasy books... I couldn't list just one. But if you ever want recommendations, I'm sure I could come up with a few!

I'll keep you to that! I have another series to read once I finish WoT. I'll ask you after that for recommendations. I want my bookcase full of fantasy books :pleased-1:

I have spent many years collecting my own shelves full of fantasy books and borrowing from my uncle's shelves of fantasy books :D

The avatar looks nice! It reminds me of the elf armor in the Lord of the Rings, particularly the shape of the helmet.

That was one of the main reasons I chose it. Also my eye was drawn to it when I was looking through the collection, so I decided to pick it :)

I love the Lord of the Rings, but one of my favorite parts are the "makings of" videos. I love the costumes and set pieces :)

I second that, Elyss. :pleased-1: Not to mention elves are one of my favourite races in most of the fantasy things I encounter.

I've not watched the "making of" videos, but I have watched the movies many times. Don't get me wrong I like the books but for me the movies are better, which is odd because I typically always find the books superior to their TV/movie adaptation.
