I have been trying to get my mum and sister to read them, yet I think they are daunted by the sheer size of the series, I have the whole collection on display in the living area so if they won't read it, they at least have to look at the books!
If you don't mind me asking, how did he introduce you to the series?

He bought the first book in the airport on the way to Wales for a mission trip and was entranced. He read the first couple and suggested them to me.. he talked so glowingly (is that a word? :scratch) about them, I had to check it out. I was NOT disappointed in his recommendation at all. We both voraciously read the whole series, sharing the books, until he went to college and took them with him. I purchased them on my Kindle. He hasn't completed the last book because he feels he won't like the way it ends.

My favourite character thus far definitely has to be Nynaeve, she is such a hypocrite at times I can't help but laugh at her. Especially when (spoilers just in case)

In Book 7 when Elayne and Nynaeve make the promises to Mat, it went something like ""I promise I won't shout" Nynaeve shouted" I had to reread a couple of times just to make sure what I read was real, then I resorted to laughing for a good 10 minutes. Also the showdown with Moghedien in Tanchico was so cool, there was something said in the chapter which made me think of what it would look like to a non channeler, I imagined it would just look like a fierce staring battle, and I laughed a while then. Plus some of my favourite scenes in the series so far are the White Tower scenes when Nynaeve was Accepted. And finally of course when Nynaeve healed Siuan and Leane, I found that so emotionally. Sorry for the long paragraph, but I love WoT so much!

It seems I will have to take my time finding a good avatar pic, everybody's I have seen so far are extremely pretty!

I've only begun reading the books when I was in my first year of high school or something such - when I was 15 (I am 21 right now), and I have to agree with Nyavene Sedai, waiting for the books to come out would have been a paaain. I barely deal with waiting for new seasons of certain shows to come out, let alone books.
