Hi! I'm new!

Hi. I'm new here but excited to be here! I love to read. I will read the back of a cereal box if I don't have a book. I prefer actual physical books to e-readers but I do own a Kindle. I love the weight of the book in my hand, turning the pages and the smell of old books! I'd love to go antiquing and pick up some old books or *dreamy sigh* first editions! I read a bit of everything. Sci Fi, Fantasy, Historical Romance, Romance, Westerns, etc. I am just an avid reader! I guess this is my introduction! I don't know what else to say so HI!

Actual books are the real thing (no pun intended :P ) I just don't know if I'll ever be able to get used to e-readers... I looove collecting books, special editions and such - I even own "The Hobbit" in German because the book was just that pretty. It makes me want to learn German Well, I can understand some words and sometimes even whole sentences, but not nearly enough to read it *sigh*

Theolyn, The Hobbit in German! Very nice! I currently don't own any hardbacks or first editions. I need to re-start my collection. It will be slow going but that's okay. I love books _that_ much!

I have seen a lot of homey decorating ideas using books. I want to be able to do some of them! I may or may not be addicted to pinterest as well!

Roheryn, I suppose e-readers do have their places. I do not currently have a car so I use public transporation. It is nice to be able to just grab my Kindle when I am going to run errands on the bus all day and be able to read while on the bus or while waiting in a doctor's office, etc. Much more convenient than carrying three or four books with me! Plus, since I don't have a car, it can be difficult to get to the library to check out books, too! Still, I was way behind in getting a Kindle! My friends teased me about it for years!

Starr, hold out! Don't give in and buy an e-reader like I did! I am a traitor to books everywhere!

Sailea, what country do you live in now and what country are you moving to? It can be hard to narrow down one's book collection! Like I said earlier in this post, e-readers do have their place.

Everyone here has such a lovely signature and avatar that I feel I need to spend some time choosing my own! I also see I need to request a name change, as mine does not fit very well!

Anarie, most people make fun of me when I say "I love the smell of books" I am glad someone else gets it! There's just something about books that draws me in, comforts me and makes me go to another world! When people ask me if I've ever traveled, I always say of course! I've traveled all over the universe and in all different eras! That is what makes books wonderful for me!
