Haha, it's okay, we all start off as Mennonites. Basically, it's just an image format that allows you to have see-through bits in your image, like my signature or Azi Gaidin's.

But the BEST part of PNGs is that they not only have transparency, but unlike GIF (which also has transparency), PNG transparency is 8-bit. Meaning you can have half-transparent parts and everything. That's why the "cut out" images look so pretty and not jaggy edges

His sig was changed after the statement was made. But I am curious as well - I'm hoping we don't move to allow animated signatures - as I find them annoying, and they're not very friendly to slower connections (which is where some of these rules originated, I believe).

You probably want to check our the artistic forum(s). There is no official system for signatures, though some people will offer to do them for others. Sometimes at a cost. For example, I require some tribute of baked goods from a woman's own kitchen.

Gabriel, also check signatures. A number of people have "Sig Maker" or something similar in their own signatures, so you know you can ask them to help you out.
