Kiante - the decision is made by the Board of Directors, so the Senior Members won't have any more of an idea of what's going on than the JMs, other than a base familiarity with the application process itself.

Darim - because the Board wants someone who is intimately familiar with our community and understands some of where we've been, why we were there and now here, etc.

We thought about putting in the requirements that the ideal candidate must be willing to sing upon request with the board members, just 'cause we need someone to sing with from time to time.

But we decided not to.
