Congrats to you both, while I don't know you very well Jaim I do trust our board members on their choice and wish you a huge congrats, and Caerwyn this does not surprise me in the least. While I have been one of those people who you have done a great amount for, including being my friend, I continuously hear about some of the most amazing things you have done for the site!
Congrats to both...I like everyone on the board of directors...
but just wondering...how did one get "picked" to be a board member? I understand that there will be a post about how the new "corporation" looks and such.
Having owned a company...I kinda know how a board is asked to be a member. From my time as a board member in a theater company...we were "voted" in. From my own and my father's company...they were "asked" by the President of the company. Usually because they had either money or talent to offer to the company.
While I always seem to be the "cog" in the "wheel"...how is the "company" of tv.net set up? what is their job as opposed to admins? Admins usually have to send in a resume and get voted in at admin meetings...how does the "board of director's" work here? Who is the President, Vice President, Secretary...etc? How long are they on the board? In my theater board...we held elections every year for board members. In my father's company...they were for life unless the board themselves voted them out.
So while I am all FOR these people holding board positions...and think that they will do awesome....who is on the board? What is there position and their duties to the tv.net community? I honestly want to know. NOT to cause issue...just to see how everything is working now that we changed to a non-profit corporation. Thanks!
Yep! The link that Jas'yn provided is a great place to start reading. Then, Dralyn Sedai will start a global announcement next week to talk about things more in depth
Congratulations to Caerwyn and Jaim as our new Members of the Board of Directors :joy
Unfortunately I don't know Jaim, but I doubt there is anyone I know who has as much business and board of directors experience with a variety of groups than Caerwyn. Caerwyn has also contributed more to the site and helped individual members and groups of members than anyone I know. And Caerwyn bonded an awesome :blue and Arafel has also helped many people (and was my Mentor) and she is a true artist when it comes to making stuffed animals with that TarValon flair
I am sure Jaim is just as qualified as Caerwyn, and I am positive that you will both make an awesome contribution to the Board of Directors :joy :joy :joy
