Well I saw it twice, once with my best friend and her 8-month-old baby (so admittedly half of the time watching the movie was spent keeping an eye on him, trying to make sure he didn't disturb anybody or crawl away ) and the second time with a friend who was in Brisbane to visit for a short while. A bit different from my crazy-excited-get-up-at-the-crack-of-dawn-to-go-see-the-very-first-session-on-boxing-day-dressed-up-like-an-elf-with-my-just-as-crazy-friends behaviour during LotR... but still good. :) And I thought the ending was golden.

Do you have the extended editions (for the first two, I mean) and/or have you seen the interviews and commentaries and stuff? They just make me love the movies even more (just as they did for LotR). I feel like PJ's movies would be AMAZING fun to work on.

I'm glad you liked the ending too. :D Like I said, I like action action action! :giggle

I don't own them, but my housemates too so I've seen quite a few of the interview and commentaries second hand, and I'm really impressed with how much thought and work went into making them. Though there is some tension between Tolkien's family and Jackson, the care he took to make the movies well really shows. I love going back and watching the movies, and that's not really my thing. :look:

I remember you mentioned in your first post that you are still unsure what you want to be "when you grow up". I am starting to believe that is actually a myth, and that I will forever walk the Earth, believing I will one day find the perfect job, all the while working toward a perfect profession that will never appear. How do we cope with such a thing??

THIS. Also, I just saw it again, in Gold Class, with one of my friends from work... it was BRILLIANT. Even though I kept hoping that maybe, just maybe, they'd made a "nobody dies" alternate version and just maybe they would show it. :look: My friend kept laughing at me for covering my face and whispering "no no no... get off the ice!"

You're asking the wrong person :cheeseeni: At the moment I'm just happy doing a job that is fulfilling enough right now, and where I get to work with a bunch of cool people whom I get along well with. If my job starts to suck (because the office vibe turns nasty or because my responsibilities change or just because I reach the point where I've learned what I can from it and feel the need to move on), I'll take steps to leave and find a new one. At the end of the day I reckon it's more about who you work with than anything else.

Thanks, Locus Gaidin! Great to see you! :pleased-1:

I'm good, Loraella Sedai! A lot has changed since I last wandered these halls... I've returned to Australia, where I worked as a travel agent for a few years (rubbish job but the perks were awesome :look:) and now I'm working in financial services while studying toward my second degree (in Accounting this time). Oh, and I am completely obsessed with the Hobbit movies. How about you?
