This site is such a huge part of my life and has been for the least 5.5 years. I've made some really amazing friends here and they have been a support to me through some really bad times. I really am grateful for all of the work you've put into this.

This must have been an outrageously hard decision for you, but you have given so much of your life to this place already, you need a chance to have a go at life without carrying this as well.

I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment.. I kinda thought this would (and should ) be a position held for life. I do understand that that's not possible though :/ And though I wish you could still be my Mother, I respect your decision, because I respect you so much (especially after meeting you at Anni). You will always be the legendary Empress, may she drink forever, no matter what position you hold! You're not getting out of that one (*evil laugh*).

And I also hope you'll be active on the boards, so we won't lose YOU even though we lose our first Amyrlin. Cause you are worth so much more that a title, and I don't want this to be the end of Eleyan Sedai or anything :s I also hope I can call you friend, and if not, then you will just have to be active long enough for me to become one

So yeah.. I'll miss you being Amyrlin, and no one could ever do it like you. But hopefully the next one will carry the stole with enough pride and enthusiasm that one day I'll respect her as much as I respect you (and yes, I say HER cause I believe our Gaidin know that we need a female Amyrlin )

Okay, I slept on this, and now I'll say what I wanted to the first time around:

Woman, move on and live! You started something wonderful here, you've started something wonderful at home as well. We'll be fine here, there are enough great people involved that we'll be a healthy, vibrant community for a long time to come yet. Only you can take care of your personal life, and I for one am looking forward to you not having to sacrifice what you could have there for the sake of a website. It seems a lot of people have forgotten that you're a woman, not a figure, and sometimes I worry about how that affects you.

There, I said it.

Stay involved for sure, go on a vacation for a while though. Even if it's just not having to do anything with the site for a few weeks, or months, or however the hell long you need in order to get some emotional clarity. Just make sure you drag yourself down for games night at the shop I work at! It won't be Apples to Apples, it'll likely be some boardgame where we're all literally trying to backstab each other whilst saying horrible, horrible things to one another in order to throw off the game playing ability of our opponents.

Without you, I wouldn't know that I'm Yellow. Without you, I wouldn't have met some of the best people in the world. Without you, I wouldn't have Sisters.

I'm crying now, and I'll cry again in a year when the future Amyrlin is put into place.

It's a good thing the change is taking about a year, since it will take us at least that long to get used to the idea. LIke Khis said, now it just feels wrong to think somebody else as Amyrlin, but I also understand your choice. Congratulations on being able to make such a difficult decision!

Just the comments everyone else has put here tells me all I need to know about you. You are clearly an amazing woman. Inspiration and friend to many people. That being said, I totally understand and respect your decision. You do a full-time job on this site, and we have no way of knowing how hard that is. That being said, you will always be the first Amyrlin, and the founder of this site. No one will ever gonna take that away.
You will never be "just" an Aes Sedai I think. You will always be you, even if the stole is passed on.

Last, I just want to thank you for being you, and for bringing us all together here on this site. This truly have become my second home, and it has given me friends I would never have met otherwise.
