Graphics Development Team
Description
The Graphics Development Team is the core of the Department of Marketing. The team will be responsible for any and all visual assets used on or in conjunction with TarValon.net. These may include anything from logos, banners, icons, and web work to printed material, advertisements, interactive Flash or web work, and illustrations. As such, the Department of Marketing is looking for a group of people with a wide variety of visual/graphic design skills. The Graphics Development Team will collaborate with each other on various projects, so applicants should be able to work well with a team of designers.
Duties
-Create any new visual assets for TarValon.net, whether web-based or print-based
-Update existing visual assets as necessary
-Work with team members to brainstorm and troubleshoot ideas
-Work with other departments within TarValon.net to manage their specific design needs
Requirements
-Must have been a member of TarValon.net for at least 6 months. Applicants may be of any rank.
-Activity level: 5+ hours on the boards per week, ideally 5-10 hours. Please indicate your time availability in your application.
-Must be experienced in any or all of the following areas: graphic design, web design, interactive design, typography, illustration, or visual arts. All applicants are asked to submit a portfolio of work with their application, either in the form of a personal website, CoroFlot site, a Photobucket album, a DeviantArt account, or equivalent. The portfolio must include at least ten examples of visual work in your area of specialty.
-Must own graphics editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, Corel Painter or Draw, Paint Shop Pro, or equivalent.
-Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, and be able to give and receive constructive criticism from other team members.
-Must be able to work with a deadline.
-Skills in any of the following areas are a plus: HTML/CSS or other web coding languages, ActionScript and Adobe Flash.
-Must be able to pilot a yacht in case the Director of Marketing needs a vacation.

Online Events Graphics Coordinator
Description
Currently, the Online Events Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all festivals and projects that the Online Events team works on, specifically focusing on the content and various activities for each festival. Online Events produces a large variety of graphics work for the festivals, and as a result, the Online Events team will now have a supervisor for the creation of event graphics: the Online Events Graphics Coordinator (OEGC). The OEGC is a liaison from the Department of Marketing who will work together with the Online Events Coordinator to delegate responsibility for visual projects, help troubleshoot, and make sure that graphics are up to par and consistent with the look of the event.

-Work with the Online Events Coordinator to brainstorm ideas for projects and the visual look of the event
-Delegate and manage the visual projects for each event, also helping to create graphics where necessary

Product Manager
Description
The Product Manager will use and maintain our CafePress Account and Amazon Associates Account, including adding and removing products, updating the look of the store, and handling any issues with either. The Product Manager will work directly with the Director of Marketing and the Keeper, as well as the CFO for any financial duties.
Duties
-Manage current product selections in both stores
-Work with the Director of Marketing and the Keeper to brainstorm ideas for new products and outlets for products
-Maintain and update the visual look of the CafePress store and Amazon Associates account, including making all relevant graphics
-Become familiar with the legal aspects of both sites and make sure all artwork and products are in accordance with copyright and other relevant laws.
Requirements
-Must have been a member of TarValon.net for at least 6 months. Applicants may be of any rank.
-Activity level: 5-10 hours per week on the boards
-Must be familiar with the CafePress interface and/or Amazon Associates
-Must be experienced with web design and coding (HTML/CSS/etc.) and familiar with creating graphics for the web. All applicants are asked to submit a portfolio of work with their application, either in the form of a personal website, CoroFlot site, a Photobucket album, a DeviantArt account, or equivalent.
