Position Overview
The Department of Technology exists to maintain our website and forums, and to take care of IT problems and/or projects as they arise. We are currently seeking more staff to help meet those needs.

Requirements

• You must be a member in good standing with TarValon.Net.[/*:m:3r1373uz]
• You do not necessarily need to be a Senior Member, but long-standing in the community will serve you well.[/*:m:3r1373uz]
• You must be experienced in working with any or all of the following areas: coding (HTML/CSS/jQuery/PHP/etc.), web design, web applications, Drupal, phpBB3, other CMS/forum software.[/*:m:3r1373uz]
• You must be trustworthy and organized.[/*:m:3r1373uz]
• You must work well with others, and be able to stay in timely contact with the Director and fellow staff.[/*:m:3r1373uz]
• You must have the time to pitch in and help out with projects, and the availability/tenacity to stick them out once you start them.[/*:m:3r1373uz]

Duties and Responsibilities
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, would be to make yourself available to work on Technology projects as they appear. The time commitment will vary week to week, but you should not expect to spend more than 10-15 hours per week working on any given project.

Update: We also need a lot of work done this summer for our vBulletin transition. So if you have any abilities in that direction (vBulletin experience, etc.) please apply.

We do not hire staff in terms, and there is no beginning or end date to this position; if/when you decide to apply, feel free to do so. In your email, please give us your qualifications -- history with the Tower and any experience/skills that you are willing to let us make use of over in Tech.

I really wish I knew anything about any of this, just so I could be in yet another Department. Alas, this is going to be one of the few Departments I never step foot in.

I really wish I knew anything about any of this, just so I could be in yet another Department. Alas, this is going to be one of the few Departments I never step foot in.

10-15 hours is alot! I would do 30 minutes to 1 hour

I know SQL.. have Azi prod me about anything that would require some thought in this area.. He and I have discussed different ways of doing things more effectively in the past.

Unfortunately I do not know any of the HTML/CSS/JSP/C# or those languages.. but hopefully we can find some folks who do..
