• Who is your favorite character in The Wheel of Time and why?
  • Verin. There are others but I have found that I tend to like particular storylines of characters more than others. For example, I liked Perrin hunting for his wife, and Mat when he was in Ebou Dar with the queen. Liandrin and her group's storyline was pretty interesting too.
• How did you find TarValon.Net?
  • I think I followed a link from a fandom wiki...?
• What do you do?
  • Finishing grad school and job hunting. Recently I have had a bout of COVID, but when healthy, I run a D&D game on Fridays and go to a local game store for a community board game day on Sundays. I'm also an avid podcast listener, which, given the amount of time spent listening, sometimes feels like a hobby.
• Where are you from? What languages do you speak?
  • I am from the United States of Insanity... er... America, and the only official language I speak is English. However, if sarcasm counts, I like to think I'm fluent.
• Have you seen Wheel of Time on Prime? Did you enjoy the show?
  • I have. For what it is, I quite enjoy it.
• What is your favorite book or author other than Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time?
  • Two authors immediately come to mind! The first is Mercedes Lackey and her Heralds of Valdemar series. The second is Jim Butcher and his Dresden Files series. Both authors have written 15+ books in their own universes which is something I love!

Does your favorite character from the books differ from your favorite in the show?

After two seasons there hasn't been much exposure for minor characters. That said, Elyas, Alanna, and what little we have seen of Verin have all been great!

I like Laura, Mab, and Bob. As for Furies of Calderon, I liked the series and the original take on how magic operates. Have you read the first book in his Spire series... The Aeronaut's Windlass? I remember liking the book, but for the life of me, I can't remember much of the plot.

I have not read any of his Spire series. I've been tempted, but haven't actually gotten around to it yet. It's good to hear that you recall liking the book, but definitely frustrating to not remember the plot. I hate it when that happens.

We do (run the games via Discord). We also have an ongoing Western Marches campaign for one shots and "opportunity games". Also, one of our members already updated and developed the WoT RPG game and aligned it with D&D5e. There are still some wonks with it and the complexity of the 2 systems make it ... "challenging". But that is what we are looking at. I'll try to find the link to the thread that has the updated WoT RPG aligned to D&D5e....it's around here somewhere...
