Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening (depending on your timezone),

Due to my love of the Wheel of Time books and numerous requests from my sister (Amylia Lerato) I have decided to join the White Tower.
This is the first forum I have ever been a part of.
I have not finished the books, only having read halfway through book 4 so pls no spoilers, but by this point I have many favourite characters and what I'm pretty sure are pretty hot takes.
Firstly I undoubtedly believe that Nynaeve is the worst character Robert Jordan has ever come up with and truly and utterley believe that Lan is way to good for her.
I also believe that Rand deserves way more love because of the amazing character development he has undergone.
I also think that whilst Elayne is a great character she just doesn't work with Rand.
These opinions are mostly unfounded as I have only read less than a third of all the books but I will still stand by these steadfastly.

SAME! Rand is a very polarizing character, I've found. People either love him or hate him, but I'm definitely one who loves him wholeheartedly.

I have not finished the books yet either; I'm still crawling through Lord of Chaos right now. Nynaeve as she is portrayed in the books does annoy me quite a bit (as do all of the main characters at some point or other, to be fair). However, I was introduced to WoT via the show, and Nynaeve as she's portrayed in the show is one of my favorites. So sometimes, while reading, I have to take a moment, envision her as show-Nynaeve, and I'm able to carry on.


I also agree with you about Rand and Elayne, and I do agree that Rand has some great development. I don't think he would make a good main character otherwise.

I love Nynaeve! I know this isn't quite a popular opinion but I do, I just love her. Egwene is one of my favorite characters in the books and in the show, she's my favorite by far. Madeline Madden deserves all the praise for the way she portrayed her. Rand... I do love him but he gets annoying some times (most of them do but he does a lot). I read up until Crossroads of Twilight years ago. I started a new reread and I'm really enjoying it with new perspectives.
