Hi everyone!
So this is actually my second account (using the same handle) at the White Tower-- I was pretty active around 2010, but let my account lapse when I began graduate school (MA in English) and we moved the forums over to a new format (although I see it's changed again ). I made it to Novice and was on my way to Accepted-- there was a newsletter thingy I was helping with, back in the day, I made some crossword puzzles and was writing a fan fiction about various White Tower denizens-- when school took over my life. I actually just finished my second graduate degree (MA in Social Transformation from seminary).
I'm rejoining the forums because I'm completely obsessed with news about the TV show and want a space where I can share my enthusiasm with people who will understand, and also I missed the community here.
A little about me: I'm a freelance writer, covering pop cultural criticism and the intersections of religion, politics, and feminism, as well as queer theology. I'm also a lobbyist for a non-profit that advocates for children's rights, especially their right to an education. In my free time I dabble with embroidery, but mostly I read (usually fantasy books written by women about women) or play video games (Overwatch, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Assassin's Creed).

A quick note for anyone who remembers me from a decade ago: I am ... not the same person. If you argued with me about Young Earth Creationism vs. Evolution, congrats: you changed my mind. Yes, an argument on the internet about evolution worked, so thank you for the literal weeks of work you all put into that. Also if you argued with me about reproductive rights: you also won, in the end. I spend a lot of my time advocating for reproductive justice now, thanks to you.
Just wanted to acknowledge this shift and give credit where credit is due. [raises glass]
