I got the impression that Mat is Jordan's favorite character (He gave Mat his favorite hat!) but I'm not sure who Sanderson's favorite character is. My Dad is reading the series. He is not done reading yet but he insists that Sanderson's favorite character is Tam.
Who do you think the authors' favorites are?
My favorite character for books 1-4 is Eguene and may favorite for books 5-14 is Mat. Verin is one of my favorites too even though she is a minor character.
Perrin Aybara, who else? I never liked tricksters, and Rand, well, is too distant from ordinary concerns for liking or disliking.
And Nynaeve, yes. She may not be the person to share a flat with, but in an emergency you can rely on her 100%.
I love this thread, but have no clue how to narrow it down.
Runners up:
Mat - He's Hakuna Matatta personified.
Tam - A solid never changing citizen of the Westlands, love him.
Egwene - I think the best chapter of any book in the entire series is " A Fount of Power" The attack on the tower by the Seanchan was a miraculous read and I would have named my first born Egwene that day, if she werent already 9.
Rodel Ituralde - Just a badass IMO
Favorite? Going to go with Verin Mathwin. She had balls of steel to do what she did and was manipulative, dotty, kind, brilliant and easily one of the best written characters in the series
