What brandon sanderson books, besides wheel of time, will you recommend me to read?
One of my personal favorites is Elantris. It's stand-alone, relatively short, and I love the magic system.
The other two I'd advise starting out with are Warbreaker or The Emperor's Soul.
If you love huge series and don't mind jumping into an incomplete, sprawling universe, The Way of Kings just might be your jam. Its scope is at least as wide as the WoT series and is some of his most polished writing to date.
Ooooo Marivea Elantris is my favorite too!
Way of Kings is also incredible. When I first started reading it in 2010 I was confused and thought it was super weird but I just couldn't put it down. Now I'm hooked!
Nice! It's so odd to me that Elantris seems like one of his least popular books. I find it one of the most evocative and gripping of everything he's done!
My personal favourite is Mistborn: Final Empire. That book alone is some of his best work. Sadly, the next two books in that trilogy are not as good
I strongly advise Warbreaker. It's fully standalone and it's a later novel after he'd honed his craft somewhat. If not that one, then Mistborn: Final Empire.
I love all his works, and would recommend The Emperor's Soul or Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell.
But Brandon gets this question A LOT and I would suggest you review his official recommendation page ... https://www.brandonsanderson.com/where-do-i-start/
This! I recommend Warbreaker a lot because it's standalone and half the people asking me find the whole Cosmere idea intimidating when they're first diving in.
I love how he made Warbreaker free as a thank you to all his fans
