Hello! I knew I came to the right place!
Well I’m OLD! (36 years) actually and first read the eye of the world when I was 16 ( in 1992)! at THAT time there were only 3 books out! Overall I have only ever read up til the 6th book( Lord of Chaos)! Because that was all that was out! And since I wasn’t sure how long Jordan was going to take finishing up ( come on Robert, if you can’t say it in 6 books does it REALLY need to be said?) LOLOLOL , I decided that I didn’t wanna re-read every time a new novel came out , so I’d wait for it to be completed!( now its been 16 years and two authors later!) sheesh! BUT I heard that its worth the wait and that Mr. Sanderson is a great Heir to Mr. Jordan?
So My favourite character in the story when I FIRST read the novels when ji was 16 years old ( 20 years ago!), was Matrim Cauthon! His story really intrigued me and he is awesome Keeping in mind that I STILL have only ever read up to the 6th book , I have zero idea whats up with mat! Just that the strange things happening to him seemed very cool.
NOW I am Re- reading the books again( im on Book 3) and im finding that I really like Perrin! LOL My 16 year old self HATED Perrin! Hahah I thought his internal struggles were BORING! The same with RAND to SOME extent! Hahah BUT now that im 36 and have a lil more life experience I find that BOTH of them intrigue me JUST as much as mat! And Of course LAN has ALWAYS been another favorite! EVERYONE”S favorite im sure!
I also Like A song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin but am constantly frustrated by how long it talks to get his books out! ( sounds familiar right!) LOL And David Eddings, Lloyd Alexander, Bernard Cornwell, just sooo many authors.
One question ive been trying to find the answer to ( and KNOW this is the right place to find it) is Where do I find FANTASTIC artwork of LAN? when I say that kep in mind please that my PERFECT “LAN” is the one on the original Eye of the World Cover ( not necessarily in that armour) But definitely NOT lil and skinny, and Definitely with a fu man chu! LOL Anyone have any ideas?

I love that he is willing to kill any character. But the wait between books is incredibly frustrating. As for how to become a Gaidin, you have to go through several levels first. Starting with a citizen.
