Hello everyone,
My name is Kalay, I am very new to this, I've never been a part of a huge internet network/community like this, so it will be a adventure.
I am also very new at the whole world of Wheel of Time. I met a guy back in Spring (2013) that has not been able to stop talking about how I should read the series. once, when we went on a date to see a movie he stopped at a nearby book store and actually bought me the first book in the series. Therefore, I will always give credit to him for introducing me to the real epic fantasy world.
I have now read the first book and I am working on the second one. I expect to go through the series fairly quickly I don't enjoy jumping to different books till a series is finished. (unless of course the author is still working on the series, in which case I don't have a lot of choice).
In the past few months I've grown a great appreciation and love for fantasy Novels. before I was introduced to this genre I was more of a suspense/romance novel buff, but now that I know what else is out there I cant really seem to torture myself by going back to the old stuff. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of friends that share my enthusiasm on in this genre and I have had no success in convincing anyone to read the wheel of time with me. Fortunately I still talk to the guy that got me started on the series and he introduced me to TV.net.
My first taste of fantasy was not actually Wheel of time but a Book called "Way of Kings", written by Brandon Sanderson, the man that finished this series after Robert Jordan Died. That series was also very well written and it made me curious what the Wheel of Time was about.
As far as real life goes: I'm a young college student trying to work toward a bachelors degree, and than toward a masters. I spend a lot of time studying (even when I am not enrolled in classes) and the rest of my time is taken up by roommates and siblings that want to play video games with me, by some miracle I find time to read now and than.
I grew up hating reading for the first 14 years of my life, however, after finding my own taste in literature and exploring new things I ended up loving it.
I enjoy traveling (domestically and international). I like to meet new people and discuss different points of view.
I'm sure you've noticed that I write a lot, I'll try and learn to keep things brief. having said that, I'll give one more comment.one of my favorite characters that I have read about thus far is Loyal, I feel like i can see a part of myself in him, both his gentleness and the sorrow he feels of how things once were.
Thanks for reading
