Our last forums allowed that too Roheryn. We've just always disabled the option. :)

Yes, I've not changed all those yet. They have to be put in the admin side of the boards with html code.

Also, can we get the "join date" thing either updated to reflect our actual join date, or removed? I notice yours Serenla says 2004, so it can't be just based on the last forum.

Nope, mine is accurate because I can see the Admin portion and was trying to learn the new system. It's something we'll look at doing, but it's not a high priority. It would have to be done manually as far as I know.

Well, it could be done on SQL backend fairly trivially. Vbulletin uses MySQL no? A script could do it much easier than doing it on the f/e for each user. Membership must already have spreadsheets with the necessary data.

That's a possibility Paxam, but I'm going to re-iterate this part of my response. :)

I'm just going to be honest here, it's a low priority as Serenla mentioned. It's not so trivial as dumping in a spreadsheet as the user accounts need to be linked to the correct records. Normally this is done via email and as we've learned with this migration, there are a lot of people who don't use their emails, so our resolution would be spotty at best. It'd take time and effort from a few volunteers here and, as mentioned, just isn't high enough of a priority to bother with at this point in time. It'd be much simpler to just remove them from displaying right now, as no one's really missed that on the last boards.

Texas, for now
If we ever do decide to do it, I'll volunteer to help. I understand the low priority, though, so don't worry about it.

If there are unread posts in a thread, the thread title will be bold.

Does this mean we won't be getting the custom flame of TV buttons back? They made navigation a lot easier for me.

At the risk of also getting hit, I'm not especially happy with the way the forums look, either. I hope they get prettified a lot. :(

I would love to see the default color for links changed. The gray makes them a little tough to read.

Can we maybe just disable the "hot topic" color option? Obviously our custom buttons are preferable, but the orange buttons do seem to be throwing people off a bit. And it doesn't seem to fit the vibe of the site anyway. *shrug*

Even changing the white background to the cathedral style thing we had on the phpbb2 boards would make this a whole lot nicer. And maybe replacing the gray on the ends with the brick style we had on the phpbb3 boards would add something. Right now it just looks like a forum, and there's absolutely nothing special about it.

Also, I will be insanely sad if we can't customize the icons here so we can use the ones that Bin made for the phpbb3 site. They were gorgeous, and definitely added Tower flair to the site.

Who can't see the header image? It's been there since yesterday...

I miss the one that changes in throughout the day

SERIOUSLY! and having the pretty bricks in place of the grey and having the custom forum icons, and i will say it again, a fixed forum instead of fluid, those things would make this forum look WAY better!

Also, i want the egosearch back :tug.:
