I think it is the browser. I'm using IE9 I tried it on Chrome and I can see the buttons. I guess I have to stop using my old school browser

IE9 certainly isn't old school, and... *goes to check* works for me. Something weird for you, lady. Try clearing cache (tools > internet options > browser history > delete > check only "temporary internet files" > ok)

One thing I'm noticing now that irks me is I used to flip to peoples' profiles when I wasn't sure what usergroup they were in to be able to see quickly what rank they were (like if an Accepted is a moderator and her title doesn't show up b/c the moderator one does) and now that information doesn't appear on the profiles.

Also the new search for the site doesn't have a show results as posts option that I can find; they all appear as huge threads that I have to sort through the pages to find the post I wanted.

Not sure if this question has been asked before, but can we shrink the width of the forums/site a bit? It's ridiciously wide.

That's largely a function of your browser window. If you change the size of the window you're viewing it in, the size of the forums will change too.

Yeah, it's not a ginormous fixed width by any stretch.
