What happened to...?

What happened to Bayle Domon? He was there up until Chapter Two, then seemed to just fall out of the narrative after the fighting started?
Also, I wanted to say that I think Thom Merrillin drew a short straw for the final book vs. his role throughout the series. Sure he sat there guarding the cave to Shayol Ghul, but I feel like that was underplayed. How could five seperate Dreadlords fall to a knife in the back? They all walked right by him as though he was just some doddering old fool rather than a Warder and Spymaster...

Would they know that Thom was a Warder? Or would they realise just who he was? Many people have discounted Thom as a "simple Gleeman" in the past, and the Black Ajah (perhaps Aes Sedai in general) have proven to be pretty good at overlooking people they feel are unimportant.

I'm not sure where Bayle ended up either, but I've only read the book once so far so have no doubt missed a lot.

Domon was with Egeanin for pretty much the entirety of the book, apart from a small section where she stands in for Gawyn. He is seen with Egeanin when she presents the seals to Logain.

The way I read the section about Thom killing the Dreadlords was that all of them attempted to disguise themselves as someone from TDR's team and stroll past him as if they belonged there. He thinks to himself that people forget that Illusion doesn't change a person's walk or mannerisms. It is a little surprising to me that they would bother with disguises rather than just balefiring the guy between them and their goal though.

I think that if anyone were to attack the guy guarding the entrance would b a major target for the good guys. at least thats what i thought at the time i read it.

The part about disguises and Thom seeing through them, yes. The rest of it, there are dire, dire consequences for channeling in or very near Shayol Ghul.
