Stephen, you've already got the drop-down quick nav thing, and there's a button right next to it that will take you to the top of the page. Having inquired elsewhere, I'm told that it would be a major undertaking for Tech to put the other navigational links (i.e. Board Index and Back to (forum in which this thread is housed)) into vBulletin.

Call me lazy, but I hate having to do that extra click. :P However, if it's that much work for tech, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Eventually.

Drupal and phpBB3 were separate, so using Drupal to somehow bookmark phpBB3 would have been an astounding feat of magic. :P

It allowed you to bookmark any URL and it would show them on the side. I used it all the time, and it makes me sad it no longer exists

Also, there used to a return to parent forum link on the bottom of each thread, so you could read a thread and if you chose to not reply you could instead use the quick escape hatch with one click.

On the flip side, I really like that when you quick post it goes right back rather than going to a filler "your post has been made" page for a bit.

Actually, no. You know how there are these threaded links on top here? For this topic, it's:

• Forum
• Transition to vBulletin
• Miscellaneous

The old forums had those at the bottom as well. I always used those. Now I first need to click "top," and then the link.

Makes me wonder if the "Reply to thread" button right above quick reply could be changed to "return to <blank> forum" instead... especially since there is the quick reply right there, and the "Go Advanced" button right below that. Seems a little redundant to me to have it there either way.

The "Go Advanced" button takes you to the full editor, rather than just the quick reply feature. I don't think that's going anywhere, more's the pity.

Do we have a chance to not even let all those spam bots register, let alone post? I can't remember it was that bad on the old boards.

And I'd like to reiterate that the contrast to the background is awfully low, even with black writing. In addition, the contrast between read and unread threads is barely noticeable.

When I'm on the main page for the forums, it doesn't list the most recent post for all forums with subforums. (i.e. discussion halls, hall of novices and book discussion forums) It's not a big deal, but I do like being able to see it, especially in the Hall of Novices. Is this something that can be changed? Or is it just how the new boards are set up?

Autumn, if you go up to the top and click on "Home" you get a new drop down menu for "site resources" that'll link you to that stuff.

I looked to see if this was asked but didn't see it. Is there a way to see threads you posted to prior to the switch. I know that from now on I can favorite threads that I post to, but is there something similar to the "view your posts" function on this new format that translated from before?

I noticed when we started breaking in the boards that imported stuff did not populate our profile pages; if you look at yours, you'll see all of your most recent posts anywhere. You can still do a search on the forum for your name and see stuff. Alternatively, you can go look at the old boards (link in Ask the White Tower) if you are wanting something specific and cannot locate it here for whatever reason (didn't get imported, hiding from you, etc.).
