The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.

Rafe used it to answer questions vaguely in Q&A sessions. :giggle

And the final chapters (I think I did 48 before, but already started before I realised)
We keep up a quick pace, meet the Green Man (so only a Black Veiled Aiel left), learn Rand can channel (which, as we have discussed is no surprise to those paying attention)
48
Ingtar doesn't like Rand and the others - he seems to resent them going with Moiraine, but he doesn't hold any grudge
There does seem to be a genuine concern that Fal Dara could be overrun - why no response from the White Tower?
How does the Eye of the World move around anyway?
Nynaeve admits to wanting to go to the White Tower. She also admits to Lan her feelings and they discuss it
49
How do trees even grow if they rot while they do it?
Moiraine thinks the creatures of the Blight should be able to sense she can channel and stay away? Can we assume this is what happened on her first visit?
Is the blight really trying to stop them?
What are the worms (Jumara) afraid of?
The Green man recognises Perrin as a wolfbrother - were these common in the Age of Legends?
He also thinks Rand is an Aiel. We learn they used to follow the first Covenant, but not what it is (The Way of the Leaf)
50
The Green man had not rested beneath Avendesora in 2000 years - did he visit during the Trolloc wars, or did he just get his numbers wrong
Just how did the Aes Sedai purify Saidin? Obviously not the method Rand later uses
Moiriane says it was made for a great need, perhaps the greatest the World has ever faced
Moiraine says that all the women in the Tower could not fill a spoon with the power. While technicaly true, it ignores Wells, or she could be talking about Saidin rather than Saidar
What does Aginor mean "an old friend, an old enemy" when talking about the dagger- was there something similar in the Age of Legends, or are they just being poetic?
Aginor says "Like Ishamael, we walk the world again" - There really is no excuse know for not knowing Ba'alzamon is Ishamael not the Dark One
Everyone apart form Rand pointlessly tries to rush the Forsaken
51
Aginor refers to Ba'alzamon giving Rand dreams beyond mortal men. Odd thing for him to say, but I think RJ was trying to confuse people here
What is the glowing cord? Aginor's connection to the Dark One? Saidin?
How does Aginor kill himself. Was this why the Eye was created, so that one of the Forsaken would burn themselves to a crisp and not kill the Dragon Reborn, who was there to try and protect the Eye of the World?
How does Rand move to Tarwin's gap? This doesn't seem to be Traveling
What is the voice - the Creator seems likely, but what does "It is not here" mean?
How does he get to Ba'alzamon.
Why is the cord connected to Ba'alzamon black and the one connected to Aginor White?
Really, what was going on in their meeting?
52
Rand thinks he killed Ba'alzamon. He is wrong here
Moiraine explains how Rand healed Bela
53
Agelmar saw Rand, but did not recognise him

It's basically the same as for Eye of the World - Week one chapters Prologue to Ch.6 and so on. With this schedule, it will take again around 8 weeks to complete the book.

If anyone is unhapy with this schedule, please let me know and I will adjust it! :pleased-1:

Are we continuing in this thread, or does each book get its own?

Prologue
Bors identifies several people. An Illianer, a Tairen High Lord, a Shienaran Lord, a member of the Andoran Queen’s Guard, two Aes Sedai, a Sea Folk man and a Tinker. I don’t think we explicitly learn who any of them are, but we did get confirmation on some of them from outside sources for a couple. I do wonder how a Tinker manages to be a Darkfriend – they don’t associate with anyone outside the Tua’athon ever.
Bors hates Aes Sedai. We will see more of this – People become Darkfriends, and are hoping to see the world destroyed, ruled by people who can channel and the vast majority of people suffer endlessly, but still hold on to their earlier values.
Ba’alzamon is masked – probably because Rand burned him and he has no one he can trust to Heal him. Despite obviously being a man, when told it is Ba’alzamon, Bors doesn’t adjust his thoughts on who Ba’alzamon is, and assumes it is the Dark One somehow standing before him.
Bors thinks he could be chosen as a new Dreadlord – does he think he will be able to channel, or just that “Dreadlord” as a term for someone who is a high ranking Darkfriend
Ba’alzamon now knows who Rand is, but Mat and Perrin are still important.
What was the bend where Ba’alzamon thought Rand could be turned? I don’t think we ever see anything that even hinted at this being close to a possibility
All the attendees are given tasks to perform. We see some of Bors, and for others, such as a High Lord, or Aes Sedai, it’s easy to imagine what they could be, but the Sea Folk man, or even more, the Tinker? I really can’t imagine, unless for the Tinker, this is supposed to make us suspicious of Aram when he turns up again much later.
We are told that the Seanchan have returned, but at this point, just a throwaway line
Where were they? Was this in Tel’aran’rhiod, or were they taken there in the flesh somehow?
Chapter 1
We see the first Bubble of Evil – the wind that almost forced Rand onto Lan’s sword, but Lan dismisses it as “strange things happen near the Blight”, though does accept it could be something specific to Rand
Lan tells Rand that many power forged blades were destroyed by fearful men. How did they manage that?
Where did Moiraine go? Do we ever learn? I assume she went for information – she later seems to have some she didn’t in the first book
The Amyrlin Seat arrives. Rand should have been gone six months back, but found reasons to stay. Ta’veren in action.
Lan says it would have been better for Rand to be months gone – taking Rand’s side against the Aes Sedai, even if only in a small way
Chapter 2
The Shienarans all seem excited and honoured that the Amyrlin Seat has arrived, and not resentful that she didn’t bother sending anyone when they were about to be overrun six months earlier.
Moiraine replaces all of Rand’s clothes with finery – I don’t know if she does this for Mat or Perrin
Someone orders that no one may leave Fal Dara- why?
Chapter 3
Mat is winning at dice – not yet the luck he will develop, but perhaps a hint of what is to come
Rand tries to drive Mat and Perrin away. He succeeds to some extent
Loial again says all three are ta’veren. Mat really resents the idea, more than Mat and Perrin, though they are hardly enamoured of it
Egwene however, sees through what he is doing, though the way she tackles him shows she still has lot of immaturity to overcome. She also blames her action on “men”. She does help him hide
Egwene also admits to visiting Padan Fain, despite having been warned of how dangerous he is
Egwene comments that Changu is getting surlier – this is probably Fain affecting them. Moiraine should probably have noticed this, or at least said that Fain shouldn’t always have the same guard.
What was Fain looking at ? The Amyrlin Seat? How could he know where she was
Chapter 4
We learn of more False Dragons, including in Saldaea. The Aes Sedai are expecting Taim to be dealt with easily
Moiraine asks if any sister has been able to do a Foretelling. This is a strange request. Is there someone other than Elaida who has the Talent? Even if there was, they can’t be done on demand
Moiraine thinks that Egwene will sit in the Amyrlin Seat one day. She is correct, but given how young Suian is, we would probably expect her to be Amyrlin for a couple of hundred years.
We are told that throughout history, a handful of queens were Aes Sedai and the few who let it be know regretted it. I don’t think we ever learn more of who they were, but I suspect they were not in the modern nations, and so are suspect
Elaida has told the Hall about Rand
There is dissension in Tar Valon. The Greens have aligned with the Reds for the first time in centuries. Two of the Whites and two Greens agreed that Suian should be considered a Blue. The Greens would probably be Talene and Rubinde. The Whites are a little harder to predict, but Seaine seems most unlikely so Saroiya and Velina seem the most likely, even if Saroiya wasn’t involved in deposing her. As this can’t have required the Greater consensus, and assuming that it was the full Hall (a sneak meeting wouldn’t have had Suian in attendance, and she would likely have mentioned this), then one short would be 13. It seems hard to work out how this could be the case (three reds and four more is only seven).
It seems that there were many turned against Suian later – two of the three yellows for a start. We know that there were 11 who voted to depose Suian. I think it likely that 8 voted for both things, and that this would have been 9 if Elaida hadn’t replaced Amira, so two Yellows voted to depose her, but did not agree at this point and 4 would have voted that Suian was not Blue, but were not involved in the decision to depose her. So four out of Janya, Takima, Varilin, Faiselle and Magla would have been involved in this vote but not the later one.
Unless RJ hadn’t thought the details through at this point.
Chapter 5
Suian and Moiraine think they could be stilled if people learn what they have done. Turns out Suian was pretty much right, though only because Elaida was able to manipulate her.
Suian says “only twice since the Breaking of the World has the Amyrlin been stripped of Stole and Staff”. This isn’t true, so she should not be able to say it (Moiraine however could). I suspect RJ hadn’t worked out as much of the Tower history. Shein Chunla for example, and possibly 5 others
We see Bornhald again, on his way to Almoth plain
Liandrin uses the Power on Amalisa, but otherwise, keeps to the oaths – what she says is actually true. Even when she says the Black Ajah is real and in Fal Dara
Liandrin thinks the world is in danger from the boys – We can probably assume here that she was at the Darkfriend Social
Chapter 6
Rand speaks the Dark One’s name and draws his attention in some strange manner
Trollocs get into Fal Dara. Who murdered the guard on the Dog Gate? Agelmar ordered no one to leave, so someone else must have done it earlier. Moiraine has Rand exempted from the order for some reason
Ingtar takes on a Myrdraal, though I don’t think he is ever identified as a Bladesmaster
They free Fain – how does Fain know to go to Toman Head?
Liandrin is really unpleasant. Moiraine is looking much better just by comparison.
