Hello all. I'm a new member, so thought I would put up the obligatory "about me" introduction post.

Who is your favorite character in The Wheel of Time and why?

Verin Mathwin is my favorite, for many reasons. She's incredibly smart - deceptively so - and pulls of some astonishing feats over the course of the series. She doesn't have a ton of raw power, but her intellect and ability to see through to the truth of a situation save the day more than once.

How did you find TarValon.Net?

Chapter summaries from the library here were recommended to me by a YouTuber doing a reread of the books.

What do you do? (student? job? hobbies?)

I am a mid-level director in business. We're in the agriculture field.

Where are you from? What languages to you speak?

I'm from Washington State, in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. I'm an English native speaker. In my college days I was fluent in Spanish but I haven't practiced in a long time; I'm learning Japanese (slowly but surely...)

What is your favorite book or author other than Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time?

I feel like it's almost obligatory to respond with "Brandon Sanderson..." but I have so many "favorites" that it's impossible to name just one. For now, since it's what I'm reading currently, I'll say The Fifth Season and N.K. Jemisin are really impactful.

Also, N. K. Jemisin is fantastic and I love her. Have you read her other works? She has a short story anthology coming out in November that I'm super-excited about!

It's not someone I follow regularly but the channel is called Bedtime Bookworm. I think she's up to Path of Daggers at this point.

I am about 90% through The Fifth Season now. This is the first that I've read from her on a friend's recommendation but it was definitely a good one. I was impressed to hear that she's won three Hugo prizes so after that I had to check it out. Story checks out.

I'm in Eastern Washington in a little town pretty close to Spokane actually but I get over to Seattle frequently. I have lots of friends who live in Kirkland/Juanita
