I am stopping by to say hello once more. I was an active many years ago when people like Naeris and Miridyth Al'Landerin were still citizens and many others who made this community be the awesome thing that it still is today. I have sadly not been able to be active due to life being life, but have always remembered and maintained this community as a special part of my heart.

About me.
I am a Dutchie, who once was a Canadian. When I came here I was following an engineering study, only to have the pattern help me follow my dream and become a professional furniture maker. I once had no real interest in the outdoors or real interest in nature, then I started keeping bees. So to say that I am a ladies man might not be considered an understatment (13 hives X 40000 lady bees.....). Anyhow I do what I love and do it with a passion.

Anyhow I started reading the series once more (audiobook lol) and am on the third book. I hope to be around abit more, so hello once more to all my old acquaintances and hopefully some new as well too!)

I'm doing an (audio) re-read, too, and I'm coming up on the end of The Great Hunt!

Welcome back to the Tower!

What made you take an interest in beekeeping? My husband thought about getting started in it just to help out the bees, but we know nothing about it (so therefore haven't done it because we don't want to do harm out of ignorance.)

Welcome back, Primus!! What was your favorite book in the series and what is your favorite type of furniture to make?
My favorite books are usually the first part of the series. I love the discovery aspect the most. However Robert Jordan was able to keep the series fresh and on a continuous journey. The reason I hate the sword of truth series was because after seven books you just want to chuck them in the trash because it’s so repetitive and unoriginal as the series goes on. There needs to be series of progression. Authors like Jordan and Bernard Cromwell tend to understand this, which makes them a treasure to read.
The udiobooks are great for when I’m in the workshop and gives me something to listen too :)

Also my favorite thing to build is something that allows me to add my own accent on a piece of work. A few years ago I won a regional competition with one of my coffee tables, so quite proud of that one!

What made you take an interest in beekeeping? My husband thought about getting started in it just to help out the bees, but we know nothing about it (so therefore haven't done it because we don't want to do harm out of ignorance.)
I was dragged into beekeeping by a fellow beekeeper. I started off by helping him out building a shelter for his bees, which he had on my moms land. As a thankyou he enrolled me into a local course, and after some self study I started building my own hive and received my own bees. I just finished my third year, and went from four colonies at the start of it to thirteen! I made 70 kg of honey this year, and expect that to increase a lot more next year. Im not saying that I know what im doing, but you learn from others, watch videos on YouTube and experiment. For example I started making my own hives design that are insulated and use a biological way of preventing mites that threaten the bees. The trick I find, is try it. You learn the most through observation. You will screw up. You will kill a colony in the process, but you will get better. Bee people attract other bee people and you will get contacts that you never know that existed. It’s fun and educational and gives you a totally different view in whic you look at nature. This year for example we transferred a field in to a wild flower field. We ceased with all chemicals on the property and now we’re seeingnhowmnature restores itself with different insects, birds and other wildlife.

Beekeeping is like finding you that you can channel! Best way I can probably describe it lol!

And that’s why… I love the Grays! Despite not knowing what happened to my Aes Sedai, I’m still bonded to the ajah lol and it’s soo GRaYT to see you! How do I sneak back in there?

Also do you refer to the wot tv show? Yes I do watch it, however I prefer the books! In the audiobook version Rosamund Pike does an amazing narration. I have become a fan of her!

Your name is unbelievably familiar for some reason - as in, beyond me skulking through the Library a lot.

Welcome back! It's always so good to have old members return. I do hope you stay. :look: I've taken a look through the album you linked, I loved all of it! The dogs were a pleasant surprise too, bless.
