I can't believe that it has taken me this long to join this site!
I started reading WOT in the early 1990s (not sure exactly when) when my dad handed me a paperback copy of TEOTW that he'd picked up at a yard sale. To this day I still remember very clearly the creepy feeling that came over me when I read the scene where Rand first encounters the Myrdraal on the road; it was then that I knew I was hooked! My dad, my sister, and I shared our love for this series - and our copies of the books - for that day on. Like many of you I feel like I've grown up alongside Rand, Mat, Perrin, Egwene, and Nyneave. I can't count how many times I've read (and listened) to these books over the years.
When TGS came out in 2009 I was extremely lucky to be chosen as a Storm Leader for the Maryland tour stop. I had an absolute blast meeting other super fans like myself and working to keep everyone in line entertained while they waited to get their books signed. And of course getting to sit down to dinner with Brandon and Harriet was beyond amazing. One of the other Storm Leaders encouraged me to join this site at that time but for a variety of reasons I never did. Then last night I attended the AMOL tour stop and was reminded that I'm really missing out by not being on here. So here I am!
I look forward to meeting many more of you online and in person. I love that there are so many of us out there so are so passionate about the amazingness that is WOT.
(I'm still figuring out my avatar, signature, etc. and I'll likely have lots of questions along the way so hopefully I'll be able to connect with some helpful people here!)
