Greetings,

I am Brian and you may know my wife Nebka who recently joined this site. We have been reading the Wheel of Time on and off for years. We recently decided to start over and make it habit to read every night before bed. Prior to my current job I worked away from home most of the time which really makes it hard to read together. The Wheel of Time series has kept our interest for so long because you feel like you know the characters so well and it is hard to stop because you just want to know what happened to this person of another or sometimes everyone.

And if you think your life is full of complications just imagine how Rand feels. Everyone expects so much of him yet they never cut him any slack. He tries to unite people only to have them bicker over everything. It seems the Dark One will win just because even those that claim to be of the light are glad to see someone else fall if they think they can benefit from it. Yet you have hope and just expect that things will somehow work out because the Two Rivers folk are too stubborn to have it any other way.

I love that you read the Wheel of Time together before bed--that's exactly what my husband and I did! I used to work the midnight shift so he would read aloud to help me sleep and it's a tradition we keep up to this day it's a great way to share a book as well as a nice thing to do together

I feel the same way about wanting to know what happens to the characters while reading. I've always been motivated by characters more than plot (though both are needed). If a story doesn't have good characters I rarely finish it.
