If you have an email address provided by Tar Valon (name@tarvalon.net), you will receive a message shortly regarding the migration of the account to a fully functional "Google Account" as outlined in the email below. This upgrade will allow users to access a myriad of new applications including photo hosting (Picasa), video hosting (YouTube) and other features all tied back to one account.

If you do not receive the notification immediately, please be patient. Google is still working on a few transition errors.

Any questions or comments can be directed to support@tarvalon.net.

Cool upgrade, but the last part of the e-mail made me laugh. I'll just jump right on my bike, shall I?

A few things to note about the migrated functionalities (I did this on one of my domains a bit back and these came as a surprise)..

It acts as a Google account.. through and through.. so you will now need to log out of any google accounts you use before you can login to the tarvalon.net account. In the same vein.. you can now login to your tarvalon.net e-mail from the gmail.com site (make sure to include your domain in your user name).

All the new functionalities are neat though, enjoy!

There's actually a new google account feature where you can be logged in to multiple accounts at the same time. You set that up in account settings.

I am having some issues with the migration. I created a separate google account using my tarvalon.net mail box as I have been using it as my personal mail for years. When this migration happened I had to merge the two accounts. I did not really knowing all it would entail. Now tarvalon.net essentially owns my youtube channel (every time I log it it reminds me that this channel is managed by tarvalon.net). If you guys decide to remove youtube as a google service I will no longer have access to my youtube account. I tried many things to try and remove you guys from my youtube account (or change it over to a different personal google account) but I cant as my aloren@tarvalon.net google account and my youtube account are now permanently linked since the merging thingy happened. I am unsure what to do about this. I do not want to get a new youtube channel... I want to preserve my current view counts and subscribers.

Why is this a problem? Well really it just makes me nervous. I mean tarvalon.net can now do anything they want to my youtube like delete it. I dont want to lose my videos and veiws. I mean my channel is not very big... yet. I am hoping to gain a small veiwership though. Someday if I want to become a youtube partner (meaning I can earn money from veiws) I dont know if that will be an issue since now there can be a question of who actually owns any content I create according to what i have read on google and youtubes sites. So I am just really worried by this. I would have never done this if I had known the merging of my account would have this result. Google kind of forced me to do it to even check my mail though.

I am even scared to mention it in general in case tech decide to try and fix it and accidentally delete my youbute account or any content :eek
