    Any fans?

'Cause you know all his Cosmere books are linked (Mistborn series, Elantris, Warbreaker, Stormlight Archive)

I'm a total fan and love the idea of all the books being linked, and seeing Hoid pop up!

Super hyped about Stormlight, think it has huge huge potential.

    Yes, Aulrick:
They all take place in the same universe, although on different planets and at different times. Aside from Brandon having officially said that that is so, you see it from things like Hoid showing up in all of the stories, references to Adonalsium, the fact that all higher powers are named after similar themes, e.g. Ruin and Preservation, Honor, Cultivation, Odium, etc. The men who're tracking someone in WoK are from either Mistborn or Elantris (I don't recall).

Seriously! They're all part of Brandon's cosmere universe; Brandon has confirmed this,
with each story set taking part on a different world in the Cosmere (Roshar: Stormlight, Sel: Elantris, Scadrial:Mistborn, Nalthis: Warbreaker) and there is one character (called Hoid), origins currently speculative, who appears in all 4 series. Brandon has confirmed he's the same guy, somehow world-hopping.
It's genius! There are little tidbits in each story that are starting to build up the bigger picture

    Mod note

I think this topic fits better in the Non-WoT book forum so I'm going to be moving it there. :)

Brandon has also said that somewhere in the future, he has the intentions of maybe writing something that really connects it all together.

I'm liking his works too. From the Cosmere books the Warbreaker was least interesting to me, but I liked it too. I loved Mistborn - including the ending, which many people don't like - and the Stormlight Archive series is very promising. Eagerly waiting for the second book. :D

That would be a super interesting read, Tazren Gaidin.

Didn't it come up in the Way of Kings re-read thread that Sanderson's supposed to reveal a lot more about Hoid in future Stormlight books?

That would be amazing. I think it did Megana, there's at least one book planned/unpublished to do with Hoid's origins

I heard Brandon talk about plans for his future works at the midnight release party for The Alloy of Law. He said there's going to be a whole series about Hoid. I think it was supposed to be seven books long and called Dragonsteel, but I'm not completely sure I remember right.

Yeah Brandon is planning on writing a seven book long series called Dragonsteel after he finishes the Stormlight Archive.

I LOVE Sandersons books ^^ Especially Elantris. I usually refer to Elantris as the best one-novel book I have ever read :look Warbreaker is also great. Mistborn is also cool, especially since it kills some typical stereotypes, such as hero-always-survive ;)

I am not sure I like this. It would mean I would have to read other series of his that I do not like to understand why a character acts the way they do in a series I do like. It is an interesting idea though.

I think that Stormlight Archive especially will be hard for some to understand without having read the other books.
    Spoiler from Words of Radiance:
Like the sword Seth gets at the end. Lovely reference to Warbreaker, but if you haven't read it, you are left wondering what the heck that sword is...

Ida, I think people will be left wondering about one thing or another either way, whether or not they've read Warbreaker.
Even though those who have read Warbreaker will recognize the sword as Nightblood, we still don't know how it got into Roshar or why Vasher (Zahel) doesn't have it anymore.)
No matter how many or how few other cosmere books one has read, there are plenty of things to wonder about.

I agree Winter, but if there are nothing left to wonder about, it will get boring. That is why I like the fact that there are still things to wonder about in WoT :)

    about WoR....
I was wondering about the sword anyway because it's been so long since I read Warbreaker that I didn't remember until someone pointed it out to me :p
