Yeah all the metal starts melting in the camp of the hubby of one of the women who were against Elayne and they blamed it on her/Aes Sedai. Bayrd made a spearhead out of stone and ended up leaving with most of the men.

Yep. Since rules at TarValon state that you can't choose a name that is a character in a book, it looks confusing to other members when they see people "flouting" rules.
Placing these announcements simply means that we're acknowledging the ownership of the name.

Meh. I don't know. I mean, the character is okay and such (albeit a bit crazy), but the name always struck me as extremely ugly and very unfitting and out of place in the world.

Stephen, you may not realize this, but Bao is Bao's real name. And the name was the genesis for the entire plot line.
