Donating cash is fantastic! I understand it's hard to take selfies doing that, but a screen shot or photo with cats will certainly work!! :joy

We didn't take pictures but we donated food thru the church where I work, and also thru our local police department. The police were smart - they parked their trucks in front of our grocery stores to catch people's attention on the way in. They even let little man sit in the front seat of the truck when we dropped off our bag. :D

I dont do selfies. :look:
Wouldnt know how to post one if I did. :P
But we are donating cash to the local food bank/emergency relief agency out of every pay check. Sort of a Yule resolution for the coming year. It isnt a big amount, but it is something. :cheeseeni:

Even if you don't do the selfie, still fill out the questionnaire! Pretty please. :pleased-1: This way we can keep track. And a "selfie" doesn't necessarily have to be of your face. It can be of your hands giving, it can be or your screen, or something along those lines as well. ;) Just make sure to not turn in a photo with your personal info. :pleased-1:

I did some good deeds and posted photos via the form. :joy

Not all of my donations were food-pantry-related (nor made a lot of sense from the photo,) but I did manage to slip one in there that fit. :D Happy Feast of Lights, everyone!

I went to hand in some stuff today, and it was so crowded that there was no chance of taking a picture. People were literally pouring in!

To my fellow Norwegians: I gave my stuff to Fattighuset. They accept used and new clothing, toys, hyigene products and so on. Food it seems they get for free from the grocery stores. I know there are similar concepts in several other cities too.

My church does amazing things for the community. I have never seen a group of people so dedicated to to help others in need. Here are some of the ways we help our community...

We send a food truck out every morning to feed the homeless.
Every 5 weeks, homeless women are given a free makeover.
We fill backpacks with essential hygiene items and give them away
We have 3 services each Sunday. One of them is for the homeless. We transport as many as we can back and forth by bus.

I will not take credit for all the things my church does for people in need. I am just glad to help, and to make a difference in people's lives.

Tobias, that is amazing. I do recommend you fill out the form. :pleased-1: It's not necessarily "taking credit" as you also participate. :hug But that is really something to be proud of!

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is only a little over two weeks left to participate in our Feast of Lights drive! I've had a few people mention that the selfie is what has kept them from participating. I just wanted to let you know that a selfie is not mandatory to participate!!

Note: If you clean out your pantry to send stuff to a food bank, please check expiration dates. :facepalm I saw something that had expired in 2009...most canned goods are OK for 1-2 years after the printed expiration date, but 5 years over the date? Really? Really. Someone didn't even care. :rolleyes

I filled out the form!

We have a Soup Kitchen at my church every Wednesday and we had our Christmas party there this week since we are closed next week. I didn't get a super good picture, but I included one :D

Yay! That's super awesome! Thanks Roheryn! :hug

You're welcome! I was super stoked when I saw what this year's FoL fundraiser was because I KNOW how difficult it can be for soup kitchens and food banks. I work at one every week, and I LOVE that we're raising awareness for them!
