Have an idea for the next Fall Ball location? Tired of having to travel across the continent when there are totally kickin' rad places for us to host the event in your own backyard?

If you would like to bid on a location for Fall Ball 2013, please send an e-mail titled 2013 FALL BALL BID to naevents@tarvalon.net, events@tarvalon.net, and officers@tarvalon.net. Bids need to be submitted by October 8th, 2012.

Things to keep in mind when submitting a bid:
If your bid is selected, YOU will be an integral part of the planning. By making a bid, you are volunteering to be the local liason.
What does that mean? You will be my eyes and ears on the spot. You will be expected to do a lot of the leg work to find hotels, local activities, and transportation options.
Fall Ball is generally held around late October to early November and we're looking for a tourist friendly location. We schedule a lot of "free time" during Fall Ball, so having available day time activities is a MUST.
Hotels with a meeting room we can reserve to socialize in are a HUGE plus.
Normal Fall Ball attendance is 25-35 people.

Please include the following information in your bid and aim to use the following headings:

Name and rank of submitter(s)

Overview
Location
Personal experience with the area
Why you think the location would be our best option

Location
City (overview & details)
Activities (museums, sites, and other touristy things to do in the area)
Hotel Options (URL & Phone Numbers)
Transportation (Major Airports in the area, options for people to get to the hotels)

Support
Point of Contact - Who would serve as local liaison for the event?
Other – additional Tower volunteers who will help facilitate event

Remember - this is just a guideline - please feel free to send us more information if you have it! There is no such thing as "too much information" when it comes to submitting a bid.

Please feel free to send us an email if you have any questions!

Sadly I can't link it like a normal image (just gives HTML code), but I like that you can zoom in/out, etc. I need to work on getting specific dates in the db for this map as well.

Eventually, I'll make a prettier one - but for a free program, I'm pretty pleased with it.

but now it links to the library! It's something I've been meaning to do for a while, thanks to Vallah for reminding me.

I definitely prefer an interactive map to a static image.

Tarvalon hates the north east :look: Time for a proposal from New England!

I've done one twice before :look: Unfortunately I'm no longer in the north east.

Maybe I'll make a Toronto or Niagara bid in the future... I wanted to experience an official event first though so I could know wtf I'm getting myself into. :P
