We are the Active Citizens of Tar Valon, or A.C.T
Our mission:
There are very few active citizens, and being a new member can be daunting. The introductions thread is nice with it’s handy stickys and the warm welcomes of other members. The problem is where do you go after that? We believe that more could be done for new members. We want to make them feel comfortable, and help them test the waters with senior members. We want to encourage them to participate and have fun. We want our new members to stick around and stay active.
Proposal:
We are proposing a new group of citizens and possibly junior members who will go above and beyond what our lovely welcoming committee already does. We will be citizen ambassadors. We will be recognizable by a post in an A.C.T. thread and a line in our signatures. We will PM new citizens, try to get to know them, and ask if they have any questions or concerns. We will give encouragement and a helping hand to any member who needs it, not just citizens. We want to be there to help one another. Most importantly, we want our citizens to become more involved in Tar Valon.
We are proposing a new thread in the general forum where A.C.T. members can post and be recognized. New members could also find us there to talk or ask questions. We would like more citizen based activities on the boards and in chat.
Our main concern is our citizens don’t get very involved for the most part. When they do, we lose them to the tower almost immediately. We believe that a different approach is needed to keep people who are not interested in joining the tower active. We want our citizens to feel comfortable and to feel just as integral to tarvalon.net as any senior member.

**Note** This is completely a volunteer thing. We will need people to help out and commit some time to keep this going.
