I started reading in the 4th grade and by the time I was in the 6th grade I was reading at a college level.
I believe my first LGBTQ+ positive Fantasy was the Arrows Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey. While it wasn’t expansive, I felt great that it was there and treated like it was normal. I’m hoping to read her Herald-Mage Trilogy which has a gay main character I believe!
Nice to meet you, Delara! Girl, that scene still has me nary of mood to this day.Welcome Nadezhda!
I've only read the first three Mistborn books from Sanderson (plus his contributions to the Wheel, of course) but I really enjoyed them - even thoughthe scene where Vin and Elend were on the ground, holding hands, made me cry my eyes out because it was so lovely and I'm horrifically soppy about things like that

It seems a lot of people enjoy Lackey, Nymala Sedai. Maybe we can get a book club/read-a-thon thing going. That’d certainly encourage me to move her work up my list.Yes! Firesong was awesome. He appears in later books, in an expanded role, namely the Storm trilogy. And yes, the Herald-Mage trilogy features Herald Vanyel and his partner, Stefen the Bard. Sorry, I have been reading Mercedes Lackey since I was about 14. Ask @Roheryn ni Galghandhrei t'al'Djinn about my...her...collection.
