Laurien Achaur
Aes Sedai
My greetings to the White Tower (and Happy Holidays)!
I am Laurien Achaur, and I must confess that a little blue bird pointed me your way (Twitter). I'm coming to you from the desert Southwest of the USA, and I am a brand new fan of the Wheel of Time universe, having been drawn in by the show. Back in high school, I attempted to read the books and just couldn't get into them for some reason. Since falling in love with the show, I've decided to give the books a second chance. It's going much better this time around; I've started Eye of the World again and am having a much easier time of things. It might take me forever to get through the books, but by the Light, I'll do it!
In real life , I just turned thirty-eight and am a student working on a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Film with an Emphasis in Screenwriting. (It's never too late to chase that degree!) I am a soldier in the Army National Guard, serving as a trombonist and the music librarian for the 44th Army Band. I am an actor and voice actor hoping to make a career of the latter with a focus on video games. I work for Hallmark and at a local candy shop...and seem to be constantly looking for other work because that candy shop is dangerous! As far as hobbies, I am an avid fan of Dungeons & Dragons, being equal parts player and dungeonmaster on a weekly basis. (I'm on a livestream that airs on Tuesday nights at 8 PM MST called The Mists, hosted by The Games Tavern on Twitch, if anyone is interested!) I love to read, write, play video games, and play music.
I am so happy to have found this community; it looks awesome, has a great library resource to sate my lore-hungry brain, and so far has yielded nothing but friendliness. I have aspirations of becoming an Aes Sedai eventually, so I hope to dive in here and into the over world of WoT as much as real life will allow. I tend to be shy, however, and might end up lurking now and then, but please never hesitate to say hello or ask me anything. I will do my utmost to do the same, and I am greatly looking forward to getting to know you all!
