Aes Sedai
Welcome..... this is a very nice place..... if I can be of help.... let me know..... blessing be
My name for the forum was the name of my D&D character in college. After someone tried naming his character "Tim, the Crusher of Beer Cans" or something like that, the DM insisted we come up with fantasy-esque names. If I recall correctly, I just played around with different combinations of letters and syllables until I found something that sounded cool. Also, the Tron remake had come out around that time, so I may have been influenced subliminally by its amazing action scenes and lack of plot.
Yep, I felt exactly the same way! :fistbumpI hated Dune when I read it as a child; it wasn't until I revisited it in high school that I enjoyed it. I felt the same way about The Eye of the World at first: it took me a few tries to push through the prologue and first chapter, and it wasn't until I re-read that section years later that I appreciated it.
Wow, I just looked up Caesarea Maritima and it looks awesome to climb! My tour group visited Pont du Gard (one of the Roman aqueducts in France), but we didn't get to scale it, sadly. The aqueduct was north of Caesarea Maritima in Israel, which used to be the capital of the Roman province! It sounds like you had quite a tour of Italy. Being from America, I remember having a similar surreal feeling when I visited Israel: it was like stepping into a history book, being surrounded by things centuries older than the 'ancient' buildings I'd known back home.
Hi Trond and welcome
So, regarding your name...
Are you aware that Trond is a very common name in Norway and the Faroe Islands (though they use Tróndur)?
Trond derives from norse mythology and can mean "trønder" (person from Troendelag, which is my county) or thrive.
So, I totally approve your name, but it is indeed a REAL name as well. Not just fantasy. I find it rather interesting to see how you came up with it though .

What made you decide to visit Israel? That's one place I've not yet been, though I have friends who live there.
