Alcyon, what I found that I had to do (found it a split second after I asked, actually) if you go to "quick links" you can click on "subscribed threads" which is much the same function as "view your posts" on the old boards. The difference is that you have to find your favorite threads first and subscribe to them. You can do that without posting in them by a link at the top of the thread "thread tools" then click "subscribe to thread."

Hope that helps, if I understood your question correctly. :)

Is there a setting in regards to marking a forum read when a subforum is unread? Cause if someone posts in the Mod Squad or Op forums, it marks the main Moderator forum as unread, even though there aren't any threads in that forum that are unread. Is it possible to change is so that only the immediate children threads can make a forum be marked unread?

(Likewise, I guess, if someone posts in SDS Chambers, SDS Great Hall should not be marked as unread; will be frustrating for guests n such) :)

This is an issue with how vBulletin sets up parent/child forums. For now, I would just accept it as one of those things to adapt to.

Haven't seen this anywhere, but I don't seem to get any notification on the main screen when I have a new private message.

Very top of the screen, to the right of your name. It will say Notifications 2 - or however many you have!

The wait time between posts sucks. :)

It's a tad inconvenient at times, but... eh. I think it's kinda nifty that it exists, but I wouldn't object to the time being lowered to 20 seconds instead of 30.

Also, if there could be a feature like there was on phpbb3 where it alerted you if someone replied while you were writing up your reply, that'd be rad.

I agree that the being notified if someone's posted while you're writing your reply was really nice. No big deal if it's not an option on these boards, though. :)

I too would like to throw in my support for notification of new posts that go through before you reply.

OK, the biggest thing I'm missing is the return to forum link/button. I do not always read every thread in a forum, so the previous/next links don't do me any good. And before you say it isn't a vBulletin feature, yes it is.. because I'm part of another vBulletin forum and the option IS available.

It's called 'Forum Jump' and it's a drop down menu that goes at the bottom of the page.. it's default will be whatever forum/sub-forum you're currently in.. but it also allows you to jump straight to a different forum if you need/want to.
If you want to see what I'm talking about, go here.. http://www.annemccaffreyfans.org/forum/index.php
Just open a thread and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

The navigation menu is directly above the Quick Reply box, Cinnamin Draconna. Yes, you will have to open the drop down menu and select a forum; if two clicks is too much work for you, then so be it. :) Adding breadcrumb links to the bottom is 1) a hack and 2) sincerely not necessary when there are so many other different avenues of navigation available.

The simplest, easiest way to go back to the forum you were viewing is to just hit back. Even if you post in a thread, you still only have to go back one time, one click, one key-combo, etc.
