I never actually posted my reason in this thread.

Well, Leala is the first name of my very first Wheel of Time character. I found the name on a baby names website. It means "loyal" in Latin, and I am a Hufflepuff. I had her last name that I made up that I originally thought sounded Andoran (it was Gymorraine), but now I think it sounds Cairhienin. But, those two countries are close enough that I think it still works for her character.

Anyway, after a while, I started writing with her again and wanted another name to differentiate between the Leala that is me and the Leala that is the character. I am very much connected to the Aiel, so I went with "Dareis" which means "spear" in the Old Tongue, and through in a good Two Rivers "al'" for good measure, because I could.

I wanted my surname to be the same as my RL sister, Kymo Ambray. Back then you had to get permission. Which I got.
Tyla al'Mere chose my name for me.

Meeeep, I didn't notice that. I'd be happy to change mine if it gets too confusing - though, maybe not using an anagram as I don't fancy being Elayne Lard

I picked Liadan after reading The Son of Shadows by Juliet Marillier. The character of Liadan in the book was strong and always did what she felt was right, regardless of what others thought. It was something I was learning to do at the time. I had just quit a job that was toxic and finding my way in life, much like Liadan had to in the book. I've been Liadan ever since in forums, games, and signature making.

Back when I was playing Ultima Online I used to go by Eradicus (in my defense, I was 11 when I chose that name :D) and Epidemic (from the Slayer song). I had a mentor who taught me dueling who went by Legolas (super original) as well as Nadir, because he was in (and maybe also started?) a guild called Nadirian Horde. Many years later when I needed a "real sounding" name for an EVE Online character I chose Nadir Lehkolasz as part of some kind of homage to him.

Mine is the name of my beloved elderly furbaby. The light in my life, even when the darkness threatens to overwhelm me.

Liadan is one of my favorite characters ever.

I picked my name at a tower party while being unsociable on my phone. When I finally decided to join the site, I used a name generator and picked the first thing I thought sounded cool. I do wish I had spent a touch more time on it because I have since thought of a ton of better names.

This is true. But I'm not actually the bullet dodger, Borris is. I was just confused as to why he was called the bullet dodger.

It's because he dodges bullets.
