I never actually posted my reason in this thread.
Well, Leala is the first name of my very first Wheel of Time character. I found the name on a baby names website. It means "loyal" in Latin, and I am a Hufflepuff. I had her last name that I made up that I originally thought sounded Andoran (it was Gymorraine), but now I think it sounds Cairhienin. But, those two countries are close enough that I think it still works for her character.
Anyway, after a while, I started writing with her again and wanted another name to differentiate between the Leala that is me and the Leala that is the character. I am very much connected to the Aiel, so I went with "Dareis" which means "spear" in the Old Tongue, and through in a good Two Rivers "al'" for good measure, because I could.
