Actually, dealing with the IRS itself wasn't that bad. Our contact had just finished reading Towers of Midnight when he received our application, so he and I chatted about the books and the site for a few minutes when I called him with questions. He was very nice, very informative, and very helpful, and I was very relieved to get someone who was knowledgeable about the concept behind our community. It made it much easier.

Now, the paperwork on the other hand...yeah, not so much. :P

Just before our Anniversary party we were notified that we had been granted official tax-exempt status from the IRS as a social club. Which is spiffy!
Yay us!

This is officially really fabulous and something everyone involved in getting the tax-exempt status should get a huge round of applause. It's hard work to get all that done. Congratulations!
