The Tower Still Stands Fundraiser

Thank you to Tree and her team for putting this together. I have been so overwhelmed over the last month or so at the amount of support that has been offered by this Community as we dealt with an incredibly difficult situation. During the last month we have managed to raise enough money to pay our deposits for 2013 events, have set up checks to be mailed to several of our individual debts, and are moving forward to at least start paying on the rest. You are all amazing! I love this image Tree brought forward of a ship and her crew coming together to fight through the storm and emerge stronger on the other side. We pull together in so many ways and even if you can't give anything financially right now, just knowing that you're supporting each other and cheering us on is fabulous.

Someone else a couple months ago pulled a quote from The Gathering Storm that also inspired the name of this fundraiser:

"The Tower almost seemed to groan as she looked at it. It had stood for so long, had seen so much. Now it had been wounded so deeply that it still bled a day later. And yet it stood. Light bless them, it stood. It rose high, wounded but sound, pointing toward a sun hidden by clouds above. It stood defiant of those who would break it, within and without."

...."The Tower rose just ahead. Wounded. Bleeding. But it still stood. Light, it stood."

Thank you for all that you do! We'll keep a running total in the first post of where we're at and as Tree said even if you can't give anything now, the fundraiser will run through February. For those of you mailing in checks, I'll be out of the country starting this evening through the 13th of January, so please don't panic if it doesn't clear immediately! Also don't forget to attach a note to all paypal payments indicating clearly your Tower name (if you so choose, otherwise anonymous is fine!) and stating what the money is for. As y'all know we're currently taking payments for Anni 2013, Euro 2013 and the fundraiser so to ensure your money goes in the right category make sure and tell us!

How long will this fundraiser be going?
Currently our goals with this fundraiser are quite lofty as our debts to members who have stepped up to cover costs are significant. As such, this fundraiser has not set-end date at this time. We are currently planning on running through January 2013 and into February. This will allow members who want to donate time to recover from the holidays and traveling as well as give folks a chance to add TarValon.Net to their monthly budgets.

Well, with our Amyrlin on LOA and vacation we are a little in the dark- which is what gives us the chance to really knock her socks off when she gets back!
