I just saw the last episode and I was blown away by so many things .
But I was so sad to see Moiraine leave her lover lying on the ground injured and she didn’t even try to help her. She looked back several times but she didn’t help her!!!!

I believe Moiraine knew if she helped Siuan, she would be leaving Rand alone with one of the Forsaken, and Lanfear at that.

I Can see that she likely chose the best course. Especially since Siuan wanted to cage him.
But one of the themes has been that the companions don’t leave each other behind.
Maybe Siuan will understand but it has to have been heartbreaking for her to see Moiraine walk into the portal

I chose to read the look on Moiraine's face there as more of a "we'll talk about this later" kind of thing.

Because from Siuan's perspective, Moiraine saying she was stilled and then miraculously being able to channel again (which looks like lying), going off and breaking Rand out of captivity, then willingly following Lanfear into the ways really, really makes her look like a Darkfriend. But that isn't something that Moiraine can explain in the moment. Not when they're running out of time and not in front of a Forsaken.

My other theory is that maybe it was something that Moiraine and Siuan set up together to get Rand to trust Moiraine more. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that Siuan was in on it the whole time.

I hope so. The scenes of them planning their life together were delightful.
If not , Perhaps the defeat of Ishamael and the apostasy of Lanfear will show Siuan that Moiraine has not broken her vows

I mean, Siuan had also just compelled Moiraine to obey her with the fealty oath. If it were me, I'd think, yeah, you're good on your own.*

*That is the kind, expletive-free version.

Yes she did. But you don’t leave someone you love, have loved for your whole life, lying in the dirt injured. You actually don’t leave anyone like that!!!

Sorry let me finish that
Yes she did compell Moiraine but you still don’t leave the person you love, have loved all your life, lying in the dirt injured. You don’t leave anyone like that!!!

Meh. Given the fate of the world and the choice between leaving Rand with a member of the Forsaken and helping the person who had just betrayed all the trust and love you'd built... for me, it's not a hard choice.

As for not leaving anyone like that... meh.

Honestly, I think Siuan is the betrayer in that situation. If someone abuses you the way Siuan abused Moiraine by compelling her to act in violation of her will and her conscience, then you have no obligation to them at all anymore. Siuan broke the relationship, Moiraine just let it stay broken.

I think it's very poignant and sad, but I absolutely would have done the same. If someone has zero respect for me, you can bet your booty that I won't sacrifice much in order to ease their way. I think that's the tragedy of that situation. If Siuan had not betrayed Moiraine's trust, I think that scene would have played out somewhat differently. For me, the tragedy was in Siuan hurting Moiraine, not in Moiraine leaving Siuan to accept the consequences of her own choices.

I definitely agree that was a difficult scene though.

Wow
Let me think on that. Siuan dropped everything and rushed to be with Moiraine when she thought she had been stilled. Then watched her seemingly betray her oath to follow one of the forsaken into the ways. Should she have trusted Moiraine to do the right thing. Yes compelling someone to do anything against their will is horrible. I guess I just think the years of love and trust buy a modicum of grace

Moiraine even says to Siuan, "If you have ever loved me, you won't make me do this." And Siuan does it anyway. Additionally, Moiraine warns Siuan not to attempt to take one of the Forsaken. And Siuan does it anyway. From my perspective, Siuan proved unworthy of the love and, in doing so, lost the modicum of grace.

I too am very Team Moiraine on this one. When Moiraine made that oath to obey Siuan, I thought they were very clever to make it seem like she was swearing loyalty to the Tower or even to the Amyrlin but really it was Siuan, who she loved and trusted. For Siuan to then use that oath to compel Moiraine instead of trusting her, when Siuan hasn't even been out there to fully understand what's been going on...W. O. W. In that moment I too would have walked out and left Siuan in the dirt. I would have felt completely betrayed and questioned if she even really/still loved me if she was able to do that to me.

But on the flip side I do feel like Siuan's actions were because SHE also felt betrayed by Moiraine first, who was shutting her out and seemed to be working with the Forsaken based on the limited info Siuan had, and she believes Moiraine let her think she was stilled (since doesn't know that Moiraine herself believed it until just a few minutes before that).

It was majorly failing to communicate on both sides and I REALLY hope they get a chance to explain to each other and reconcile in the future, because I feel like they caused each other a lot of pain just based on misunderstandings and jumping to the wrong conclusions.

Also, the events referenced were not in the last episode of season 2.

Yes, they have hurt each other so terribly. I hope reconciliation is possible.

I hope it's not a spoiler to say that most issues in the book would have been solved if people just communicated more/better/at all. So Moiraine being secretive and cagey is very much on brand, not only for her character in the book but also just for the series as a whole.

But I don't think that justifies what Siuan did.

I can even understand that they're both just doing what they think is necessary to stay alive and save the world, but man, that was very cold and calculating on Siuan's part. Also very arrogant to think that Aes Sedai know how to save the world better than Rand.

The arrogance of the aes Sedai is staggering. Siuan wanted to cage the dragon and keep him for an AES Sedai sort of nuclear weapon. And Moiraine seems to think he can’t succeed without her help. So these two have lost their love over the secrets they keep. Each believing that they are saving the world.
