Hi y'all.
I thought the fact that I'm a second-time arrival would make me cool and interesting, but it looks like I'm not an uncommon occurrence after all. I will learn to live with the disappointment, but I plan to harbor a bitter grudge against Taven until further notice because he stole my thunder. There is a feud between our clans.
I'm a technical writer in the Washington, DC, area and an evenings-and-weekends grad student. I was VERY into fantasy novels as a teen (hence my original appearance here), kind of wandered away into SciFi territory for a while, and rediscovered my love of the genre recently when a friend recommended I read The Lies of Locke Lamora.
On my initial read of WoT, I devoured the ten books that were then available, but then lost interest after I wanna say the first Sanderson addition to the series? It had been so long at that point since I'd read the previous books that I had no confidence in my ability to remember crucial plot points that I'd need to know to appreciate the final installments. Well, I'm on a nostalgia reread now, and think I may actually finish these bad boys this time — I'm currently on Path of Daggers.
Anyway thanks for having me back. Oh, p.s., anyone have leads on public domain avatars that look Aiel-ish? Thanks!
Edited to add: I was last here in like 2007, but I think my name was Shala Miradsu, on the off chance that anyone recalls me, and I was Accepted of the Brown Ajah when I went inactive.
