So uh, can we change the :$ emote?

This is something that's bugged me since I first joined the Tower. I'm talking about the :embarassed: emote.

HTML:
Why is the code for this emote :o instead of :$? Everywhere in the entire world, the :o shortcode is used as a shocked emote, rather than a blushy emote. Blushy is :$. I just noticed it again when I pasted some forum text into Skype and it changed my blushes into shock. It weirds me out!

Could we maybe change that to be more like the rest of the world? :embarassed: We're odd enough without nonsensical emotes! :look: :pleased-1:

Yeah, the code tag being ...less than ideally functional is a known issue. You can use the html or PHP codes instead. :) (i.e.
HTML:
and [php], instead of [code], along with their appropriate closing tags which I will not include, lest the whole set render. :D)

(Also, I agree. I always type

HTML:
:o

when I mean it to display as :eek instead.

Thanks, I've edited it to use the HTML tag instead of the CODE tag. :pleased-1:

I've never seen it as : + $ before, but then again I've not been active with boards (other than ours) in some years. Rather than remove it, I will add it in as an additional code though.

Good enough for me. Probably not for Elo. :P Thanks, though! :hug But it does make sense. Wouldn't want everyone's emotes suddenly changing from :embarassed: to :eek and vise versa.

I've typed : o on other boards when I needed to :embarassed: and instead wound up with :eek. I always thought it was because they had written the commands oddly, not us. :look:

I know it used to be that way on MSN, too, for example. Before Skype ate it, anyway.

Oh yeah, I always wondered about that too! I think this place is only place that don't use : o as :eek or at least some other kind of somewhat surprised/jaw drop emote... :)
