Searching for a new Director of Membership

Although I have known I would be writing this for a week or two now, it still strikes me as a bit unreal that the official tenure of Membership Sedai (aka Serenla) is winding down. Although she is moving up to an Officer level position as our new Archivist (Chief Records Officer), she has definitely left her mark on our community during her time in the position of Director of Membership. She will be missed in this position, but at least she won't be going too far! Alas, I cannot leave the position vacant, so the search for her replacement is on.

Overview
Director of Membership is an Executive level position. Tasks of this position vary and are focused on providing administration for the entire Department of Membership including Heads of Ajah, Company Commanders, Captains of Recruits and Soldiers, Mayor, and Mistresses of Novices and Accepted as well as helping oversee the Hall. The Director will also be called upon to offer counsel and insight to the other Directors and Officers.

Requirements
--Must currently be a Senior Member in good standing with a tenure of at least one year.
--Must have experience in a Membership position (this includes all administrative positions and all staff positions such as Hall members, Hearts, Honor Guards, and other in-Ajah/Company positions) or have real life experience that directly pertains to this Department's functionings.
--Knowledge of the Bylaws and Member Manual are a must.
--Tact, diplomacy, and discretion are absolutely crucial in this position, as you'll be privy to information and decisions that normal members are not! You will be trusted with being able to see all of the forums on our boards, act as an administrator in the "back end" of our site, and access to private information about members and their interactions.
--Must have knowledge of Excel spreadsheets or be willing to learn

Duties and Responsibilities
--Able and willing to provide at least 15-20 hours per week depending on activity level
--Provide counsel to the Officers as needed, both on the boards, via email and at monthly Executive meetings
--Perform any and all duties pertaining to facilitating Membership within our Community including discipline, encouragement, mediation, and paperwork.
--This position works very closely with the Keeper and, to some extent, the Director of Moderators. If you don't think you can work with me or Karassa, please think hard about whether or not you really want to apply.

Outside of Amyrlin and Keeper this position is probably the one that most directly affects our members' day-to-day experience here at TarValon.Net, Inc. It is all-encompassing and can be quite time-consuming. The ability to take criticism, remain calm and impartial, and deal out tough love even to your friends are absolute musts. The Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities listed above are the barest sketch of what you will be responsible for. My term as MoN is officially up on Oct. 1st, but I'm stepping down after today to concentrate on school.
