I am excited and honored to announce that we are now opening the application period for the 2013 Robert Jordan Memorial Scholarship given annually by TarValon.Net, Inc. This year's winner will recieve $500 USD to use towards their studies and educational expenses!

Previously known as the Servant of All Scholarship, this award was aptly renamed in 2007 to honor the memory of Robert Jordan and asks each applicant to answer the question "How do you plan to use your studies to become a Servant of All"?

This scholarship award is open to all fans of the Wheel of Time. Each submitted essay is read blind and voted on by the TarValon.Net, Inc. Hall of the Tower. Forms submitted will go to me, the Director of Community Outreach, who is the only person who see's the complete applications. If there are any questions, I can be contacted at Outreach@TarValon.Net.
For additional requirements and instructions to apply please go here.

Please take a moment to peruse past winning essays, on display in our library here.

Finally, everyone please pass this information on to your friends and fellow Wheel of Time fans. The deadline for submission is July 5th, 2013. Best of luck to all our applicants!

Sorry, is this still only for undergrads or do us poor grad students get a chance, too?

Sadly, looks like it's undergrads only. Doesn't say it here, but the post in the news section does:

This scholarship award is open to all fans of the Wheel of Time.
Any student who is a current undergraduate at an accredited college or university and can write in the English language qualifies. Previous recipients can reapply as long as they are still eligible.
Enrollment will be verified once a recipient is selected.
Previous recipients may continue to reapply as long as they are still eligible.

Asandra, I still feel ya. *takes her seat in the poor-grad-student section*

Yes, alas, this is still only for undergraduate students.

Alora, or answer your question, if someone is going to be beginning in the fall term with an accredited University or College they qualify. There is an enrollment verification that will be done (standard scholarship procedure) prior to TarValon.Net, Inc. releasing the funds. If you are planning to go back and have the school selected, admissions steps handles, and are enrolled for fall- you'd qualify!
Hope that helps!

I'm trying to get all my school stuff squared before the deadline. If I were to enter and win, and I hadn't gotten it all done for one reason or another, I assume it would go to the runner up?

As long as you are able to do the enrollment verification before the funds are released, you should be good. Shoot me an email or PM with more details and I might be able to give you a better/more detailed answer. Outreach@TarValon.Net
