Following our tradition, we will once again be supporting the Ronald McDonald house! And specifically, since it's 20 min from my house, I'll be taking donations to the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Colorado: http://www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org/
Their mission is here: http://www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org/mission.asp
They have tons of different ways you can contribute, as you can see here: http://www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org/how_you_can_help.asp
Their wish list can be found here: http://www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org/RMHC_WishList_2016.pdf
Or, they also have a target gift registry which you can find : http://www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org/Targetkitchenlist.pdf
In addition, you can also pick up gift cards to Target or Home Depot, or of course hand us cash you'd like to donate at the event itself.
If you'd like to purchase donations and have them shipped ahead of you, feel free to use my address:
[[Removed - please check the Anni Forum announcement for my shipping details!]]
I'll also have collection bags for pop tabs at the event to donate so if you want to start collecting those now at home and bring them with you, that would be amazing!
Finally, on a personal note - Some of you may remember a couple years ago that I was slightly spastic in Georgia about pop tabs and pushing people to donate any extra dollars they had to the Ronald McDonald house (I think I was selling Emory's cookies like a crazy person :P ). My nephew was born a few weeks early back in Feb of 2014. That in itself wouldn't have been earth shattering necessarily, but he was born with Cystic Fibrosis and required emergency surgery within 24 hours of birth at a hospital more than an hour away from where my brother and sister in law live. The Ronald McDonald House made it so that we never had to worry about where Megan would sleep or if she would be able to stay close to her son during the nearly 4 months that Nathaniel was in the NICU. My brother, Daniel, was able to go there as he could (around school and work) and the people at the House made sure that they had food, shelter, and were taken care of. They would have done this regardless of their ability to pay, no questions asked. So this is a great organization, and I am personally indebted to them for the peace of mind they were able to provide my family.
So! Even if you're not able to attend Anni itself, please consider making a donation - either by sending goods to my home, or by making a contribution online. Ronald McDonald House Charities ( http://www.rmhc.org/ ) change the lives of families not just here in the US, but around the world
Thank you :grouphug
